Five Star Nails Meadowlands- Howick

Have come to this place on and off for some years now. Stopped coming because their SNS started failing a couple of weeks after being done so went elsewhere where they would always last 3-4 weeks. Decided to try them again one day as my usual place was closed. Sadly, the same issue occurred. I wondered if the product they used was cheap and substandard because the actual nail shape was great. But having given them the benefit of the doubt five times and the same thing happening I have given up. My partner also came in for a chest wax and all of the follicles on his chest became infected due to poor hygiene. My daughter had SNS nails done for the first time and they all peeled off after just on two weeks. They offered to remove them for her (instead of remedying the issue) and charged her $15 on top of the $50 she already paid for a poorly executed job. The removal job was dreadful, her fingers where they were ground back are very sore. They refused a credit of her $15 although they themselves actually admitted they had a lot of recalls for the same problem. I would imagine it’s an issue with the activator they are using so consider acrylic instead of SNS/dipping powder if you still choose to risk coming here. I don’t intend on returning!!!

I went in there for a mani pedi. I chose 3 colors which they didn’t have all in a row… and then the lady takes on another client without asking me. When I ask how long before I’ll be taken - she starts yelling that I took too long choosing my color in front of all other clients there. Everyone knew they didht have what I chose and then she refused to advise or help me. I requested her to stop being rude - to which she again started yelling saying I took too long, took too long!? In the end I had to walk out of the parlour. My earlier experiences with them have been great. But this one lady has ruined it for me and I will not go back or recommend it to anyone. Very very disappointed. I don’t want to be treated so badly when I’m going in to pamper myself.

Love 5 Star nails - all the nail technicians are lovely and all so good! They always make an effort to fit you in even when they’re busy. Highly recommend!

Its was a nice experience and I loved my nails the girl who did my pedicure was so nice and friendly but unfortunately the same cant ne said for the girl who did my manicure she was a little harsh as I told her what I want wit my nails and yet kept doing what she wanted and I had to ask her several times if she is doing what I want and afterwards which she did but I loved the outcome. Although due to the unfriendly situation with the manicure I can not give the 5 star nails a 5 star but it's a nice place.

Very disappointed with there service. Staff is rude and disrespectful. Talking among themselves in there own language continously, paying no attention to your requirements. Then asking other member to finish job.I read the reviews prior to going there and was bit nervous.I will never go there again.

My appointment was 3pm, I didn’t get seated until 3:30pm but then I got kicked off my massage pedicure seat to allow for a ladies next appointment. Why couldn’t she wait until I was done like I had to wait? Furthermore, the new set up they had for me was awkward and cramped. I could not see clearly the colour being applied until afterwards and when I saw the results, I did not like it. Very disappointed as this was not the service I paid for.

Disappointing service. Been going to this nail bar regularly for the last 3 years. Service is deterioratong steadily. Walked out feeling rushed, treated with impatience and attended abruptly. Nails not done to professional standard. Lots of talking amongst staff with little attention to customers.Only staff worth requesting is the manager. Reluctant to return.

Unfortunately, am not impressed with 5 Star Nails. Booked an appointment and had to wait 30 minutes. They were that busy that they were working on people outside their store. It got worse once I was in. They did not change the liner when I got my pedicure and something smelt like it had died everytime they emptied the water. They rushed the job, and then when I went to leave the only acknowledgment I got from the front counter was the eftpos mechine being pushed in my direction to pay. Lets just put it this way. If I get a foot infection for Christmas I wont be blaming Santa.

Love in there. That's why I keep going back. The young girls are awesome at their job. Love my nails when they've done them.
