I’ve been seeing the team at Halo over the last couple years, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They have an awesome team, great atmosphere and have always been very welcoming.With a convenient location in half moon bay, they’re a no-brainer for anyone in the area, and worth the travel if you’re not!

Lovely service from Natasha! Only been here twice so far but I feel like I have found my regular hair salon! She knew exactly how to help my tired thin frizzy hair and introduced me to the curly girl method. This has just helped my hair look so much healthier and rejuvenated! Bonus is lovely Oreo the kitty to keep you company :)

I had an incredibly disappointing experience! I absolutely do not recommend them! I requested a full head balayage with foils, but I was skeptical because they allocated very little time for the process (I did say this prior to appointment to make sure they are aware that I am usually in the chair for the same request for MUCH longer). After my appointment I complained and went back to the salon hoping they would address the issue, but there were hardly enough foils used again to create the desired balayage effect. To make matters worse, my hair was bleached twice, resulting in burns and damage in certain areas. Even after all that, the final result is nowhere close to what I originally asked for. The haircut itself is poorly done, and the balayage colour turned out to be yellow instead of the creamy shade I had shown them in a reference image. The application of foils was so sparse that instead of a balayage effect, my hair now has visible lines, despite going back to the salon for a second time. I will include before and after images of my hair to illustrate the stark difference between what I asked for and what I received (both images are of my own hair). My hair is in a terrible state of damage. The colour is nothing like what I wanted, and the haircut is simply unacceptable. They had two opportunities to get it right, and yet they still failed. When I requested a refund of half the amount I paid, just so I could at least fix the haircut, their only offer was for me to come back a THIRD time. I paid $300 for a subpar haircut, yellow hair, and a head full of damaged locks. I can't think of any other industry where I would have to either accept the situation or go back for a third attempt, allowing them to have control over my hair once again. I am beyond dissatisfied and extremely upset!! The lovely photo of me in the red top is from a previous salon and the image I showed them.

The stars aligned for me today when I got a booking from a last minute cancellation after reading the good reviews at Halo. Rachel did an amazing job on my hair, listened to exactly what I was saying and delivered perfectly. Rachel and her team were extremely kind and welcoming, couldn’t recommend more :) Will definitely be going back!
