Lovely spot to chill especially for a day. We just stopped to check in out passing through the area but will definitely visit again.

Department of Conservation camp. Basic amenities. Camp fees,are low . Nicely situated next to Wairau River.Private ,tree shade camping spots. Drive in from road. Some tables and toilets.

Simple DOC camping area, water from the river, two clean long-drop toilets with toilet paper, two picnic tables. Several different areas to park your camper up. Free.

Great campsite. Very simple, $8 per night. Close to the river and toilet on-site.

Just 2 drop toilets, no water or other amenities. Full of sandflies and very noisy road. But worst is that it's not safe. Seems like some dodgy people stay there sometimes. After our second night at the campsite our whole tent got stolen after leaving it alone for 3 hours. We left around 8am in the morning and 11am it was gone. Even called DOC to make sure that ranger didn't take it accidentally but they confirmed that someone must have stolen it. I highly recommend to avoid this spot or at least take good care of your belongings.

It’s not the first choice but if you’re going to try to get a fish it can be worth a stop. Wouldn’t like to stay the night here, doesn’t feel safe.
