Rangiwahia is a fairly easy 2 hour walk for moderately fit people. The hut is spacious and warm. The views are stunning.

Went to Rangiwahia Hut for one night. Good track and hut. Pretty much up hill all the way to the hut and a very high bridge to cross.

Best place to listen to the native birds while inhaling fresh air and having a good honest trampLook them up online and enjoy it for yourselves.Be sure to clean up after yourselves and shut the gates behind you.

Beautiful area with great tramps and huts, but it's a bit rough and weather conditions change dramatically, so make sure you have an adequate level of backcountry experience.
