Regency Painters & Wall Papering

Hello, I don’t normally write a review about a company unless I thought it may help others decide on their decision making. We were looking for a new local painting company as our painter had moved away and can’t do ours anymore. We have a designer house and had Darran into quote from Regency painters. He sounded like a honest guy and promised he would be on the job with 1 other from start to finish as the house is high spec and he had to be there. Well when they did arrive a week after the original date he dropped 2 painters and then left. For a professional painter it was a simple job to paint a couple of walls and i bedroom. First day here they stayed a couple of hrs and then the next day 1 hr . I contacted Darren and let him know my concerns he said deal with the painter on-site which now no longer works for him. The quality of the work was embarrassing to Darran. They painted over hidden detail, drips on steel staircase, light switches u name it. They then left blind that needed fixing and Darran had to replace 3 light switches. There were patches on the walls where paint had been missed it was a complete disaster. They used water based paint over the oil finished door trims which Darran tried fixing and still not good so have another painting company that’s come highly recommended to fix everything up. This cost up $3.3k for what should of been finished to a high standard. We learned a big lesson out of this and we got miss sold on thinking the job would be in good hands. Darran I hope this review will help your company going forward as you said you didn’t want your reputation damaged but this kind of workmanship will damage your company as word of mouth is powerful in a small town.

Darran of Regency Painters is a very personable and easy to get along with. We used his services for wallpaper installation. His work quality was good and we are getting him back for our next project.

The exterior of the house now looks great, easy to deal with and left Darran to get on with the painting whilst we were at work.

Darren came and did several feature walls in our new apartment. One of which was a large mural. These walls are stunningly beautiful. Could not be more happy with the quality of work and kind personality. Will 100% use again

Darren is a quality tradesman, good rate, reliable and good communication through out the service. Darren cares about doing a good job and was happy to provide advice and good recommendations based on his years of experience. Would definitely use his services again.

Much like Stu's comments above, we have never put a negative review on a contractors page and don't do this lightly, but we have had to enlist a MASTER painter to sand, skim and repaint the entire interior of our house to fix the appalling paint standard Regency Painters left our house with.We put our faith in a company we thought were professional painters.Darran, you became defensive and made us feel we were being unreasonable, but after having appraisals from independent contractors and feed back from a master painter, it was evident we were justified in our complaints.To name a few of the issues:-No skimming of the walls was done as quoted-Walls and doors felt like sandpaper when you run your hands over them and were very dull after they were painted.-Many obvious deep divots in the walls where wall paper was stripped off-Backs some of doors and walls were not painted at all.-Ceiling in the hallway was patchy and by your own admission painted with 2 different colours.-Over spray on doors, new cabinetry, windows, garage floor.We have engaged a recommended master painter. He has done videos and photos of what he has had to rectify as he has gone along.In effect, we have paid for the job twice over. Once to you and again to have it done properly by a master painter.Darran, you are 100 % responsible for the state you left our house in, as you did the work yourself.We write this to hopefully prevent others having the terrible and expensive experience we had with you.

I'm very happy I selected Regency Painters to do my painting, Honest, Fair Price, Friendly and Quality work, plus Clean up.Pasquale did my painting, and he is an awesome guy and great to talk to, a guy with great knowledge and experience in painting and the greater world.Darran also has been awesome to deal with, i.e timely replies even on public holidays. I can't recommend them enough.A+++ Highly Recommended

Darran did an excellent job of hanging our wallpaper. Appreciated his many years experience and enjoyed having him work in our home. Super happy with the end result and would definitely use his services again.
