Britz Campervan Hire Christchurch

I had an amazing trip with Britz Campervan! Such a comfortable van and had everything I need for my trip. I would definitely recommend it! Also, all the staff from Christchurch are very helpful and kind, thank you guys!

Great campervan! Best we’ve ever had, worth spending the extra $ on. Great to drive and very spacious to live in while in NZ! Very comfy bed and warm at nights which was a bonus. Had everything to cook with and on, outside BBQ was great too! The thl app was very handy for lots of things! Highly recommend going with these guys! :)

Great experience!We booked a Britz 2 berth Sprinter and got a rather new Maui 3 berth. Also with an extra pair of linen.Everything worked out great. No complains.We had a small chip in the windscreen, reported that and reaction and handling of that was okay. Had to pay only 60 NZD. Of course we had no extra insurance, we found that too expensive.Picking up took some some time, but not hours. Dropping off was quickly done. They also provide a airport shuttle!

Brilliant holiday touring around New Zealand for a month in February 2023. We hired a Britz Venturer camper an for us as a couple and it was the perfect size for us. 7.2m long, which was longer than we are use to but the normal width of a delivery type van. Doris, as we named her, behaved beautifully. A really comfy drive and passenger experience good too. Supplied with a GPS, attached to the windscreen not as part of the dashboard but that was no problem. Excellent nights sleep in the made up bed and felt really cosy once the curtains were all pulled. This was our first experience of campervaning and we would certainly do it again.

We had to wait about 1 hour to get our van. They were really busy but they were kind and accomodating. Staff are great. However we did not have such a great experience with the van itself. The heating stopped working, the GPS was faulty and the smoke alarm had low battery so it beeped every minute or so. It started beeping at 3am in the morning. The bed in the van was like sleeping on a wooden bed and I get that it’s the campervan experience but going on hikes exhausted and sore is just not worth it.We returned the van early due to the problems. Still waiting on britz to see if they can refund us due to poor van health.

Perfect van for a perfect trip. 2 weeks, over 3000km and no concerns.The customer service was fantastic, we were really well informed and supported. Drop off was easier than I could believe. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

We rented a van to tour South Island- van was great way to get around. No problems except at initial pick up where we had to wait 2 hours. Not fault of staff - company need to resource better. Our pick up was 3 March. Also we ended up with 6 berth rather than 4 berth. Turned out well -we had more room. Very good at drop off.

It was a pleasant long haul camping trip with the camper van although I had several issues with the van itself.Firstly, the sliding door was unable to be locked and I had to return back to the pickup point and waited for more than an hour for it to be repaired temporarily by dismantling the handle mechanism which permanently disabled the functionality of the door handle to open the sliding door however this was best solution going forward to be able to continue my journey as soon as possible.Along the way, I found that the water waste drain line was not working as whenever I attempted to drain it on the waste station, nothing came out of the line even though the isolation valve was already fully opened. Started to notice that the waste water line was dripping bit by bit when the van was parked in tilted position so I was using a plastic bottle to contain the dripping waste water and dumped it on the nearest waste water which was annoying.I started to report the issue along my journey and was guided thru email however the issue still persist and the waste water drain line broke on the valve part and I have found that it was severely clogged and the hose was damaged thru wear and tear caused by aging. I was referred to a workshop at Tekapo in the end and they couldn't do anything as they need to order a spare part for the repair and it was not feasible anymore since I need to return the van on the next day which is my last day of the trip. So I continued using the plastic bottle to contain any dripping waste water.Water level gauge is not reliable and not accurate, so it is better to fill up the fresh water and drain the waste water daily or after 2 days.BBQ stove on the side is equipped with 2 stoves, large and small. The small one was not working properly as the fire could not hold on after being lighted.In conclusion, the van inspection prior to customer pickup and usage will need to be done more thoroughly with all the functionality of the equipments tested properly.Britz provided compensation for the issues I had by waiving off and handling the diesel tax for my whole journey.Despite the above issues, I was impressed with durability and agility of the Mercedez Sprinter. It did not feel like driving a big van at all as the steering was very light to handle and the van has ample torque to accelerate and handling steep roads condition. Turning radius was also impressive for a long vehicle of 7m length and also the agility and maneuverability on winding roads. Seating position is also excellent with good visibility throughout the front and handrestIt was also comfortable living in the van for 2 person with spacious bed on the back complete with pillows and blankets, lots of compartment storage on the both left and right upper side, coffee press, water boiling kettle, complete kitchen and dining utensils, small fridge with freezer.Thank you Britz and New Zealand for the awesome and memorable journey!
