Waitomo Caves Guest Lodge

Wonderful bed and breakfast. Nearby free parking, comfortable rooms and a friendly host. Note, this place requires you to hike up stairs to get to it. She has motion lights placed around to help in the dark. The continental breakfast was tasty as well. She also gave us spare towels to take to the Waitomo caves, and shared interesting local information and places to eat. She was willing to make us reservations as well for dinner if we liked! It was a great stop, close to walk to the small downtown, for our day visiting the caves. Highly recommend!

Lovely hosts, lovely breakfast and the setting is beautiful. The cat is absolutely gorgeous and friendly and talks to you. Room was quite small but that was ok. The bed wasn't comfortable at all but that is down to what your back is used to. We did have to make a bed ourselves out of a couch and we paid to sleep 4 people. Only thing that let it down.

dwlightful stay! self-contained garden bungalows set on hillside, breakfast at the house, parking a few yards away. spacious room+ modern ensuite bathroom, coffee making facilities. probably the longest checkin talk i've ever had, but afterwards i was truly informed about everything, not only at the lodge: the restaurant across, the general store next door, where to find glowworms - i actually followed her instructions (near Ruakuri cave), after having arrived at night so no clue about the place, but i found everything just exactly where she had said it wd be and was rewarded with countless glowworms in pitch black night. mesmerizing!!

Highly recommend staying here when visiting Waitomo area.Super clean rooms with everything you need. Friendly owners. Good breakfast.

Lynn welcomed us upon our arrival. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The rooms were tidy, clean, and honestly were above our expectations. There was air-conditioning and even Netflix!Best value for money place in Waitomo.Will stay again sometime.

I lovely place to stay. Our hosts kind and welcoming, informative about the area with places and things to see local. Reminded me of the guest lodge my grandparents use to own, so I felt very comfortable with our stay.

A brilliant little place to stay, with fabulous hostsWe stayed here overnight as part of driving back up north, and of course wanted to visit the caves.The hosts were brilliant and welcoming upon arrival, even giving us all the tips and history of the area (very insightful)The room itself was great. A lovely view overlooking the village, alongside a very comfy bed.Breakfast in the morning was great and allowed us to have a chat with some friendly guests about their travels.

Unique B&B and that's in a good way! Rooms were clean and tidy. The hosts gave us great recommendations for food and hikes in the area. The view from our room (I believe it was the highest one) was amazing as well!
