Great big park home to Waimate Pony Club X Country course.Great cricket ground as well.Lots of easy walking and biking trails.Small camping ground with some new facilities . Quiet little place at this time of year.

Knottingley Park is a popular camp site in the middle of a lovely arboretum. It's council owned and maintained with the community pride I've come to expect with this sort of management. The facilities were new and spotless with plenty of useful information about the park and the area displayed in the kitchen. After a lot of rain some of the site was muddy and soft, but other campers and some helpful and v very pleasant permanent residents were on hand to push the stuck vehicle out and find a drier spot to park. I was very glad of this refuge after encountering bad weather up the Waitaki Valley and had a safe and happy overnight stay with an easy drive on to Christchurch the next day.

Nice place to visit while I was in Waimate. Good walking tracks and close to a camp ground. You can walk your dog here too

A fantastic public park, featuring many fine trees, many of which were planted in 1879. A large and peaceful place for walks, rides, and now a highly valued disc golf destination for South Island players.

What a pleasant place to visit. Having never been there before, we just had a slow drive through it, noting the beauty and peacefulness of the park, with lovely trees, clean pathways and a fairly busy camping ground. Plenty of space to enjoy and relax in, whether for a short time or longer.
