Do NOT buy from this car yard. I purchased a car a few days ago only to discover once it had been for a warrant and was in my possession that it was having extreme difficulties reversing. I should have gone with my gut as I could tell from the moment I met him Peter is a shady, rude stereotypical used car salesman. I have now seen he has relisted this vehicle on trademe only hours after I received a refund under the consumer guarantees act. With no mention of an extremely costly, inevitable repair that it needs. I just do not want someone to purchase it and be stuck with a vehicle with a dangerous fault that he has not disclosed. AVOID at all costs.

I would give negative stars if I could, one of the shareholders/director of Cathedral cars is the exact stereotype of a nasty, dishonest little car salesman...Bought two vehicles 10K 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 8K 2010 Peugeot 207, same day, cash sale...after a month one needs complete new brakes, the other requires both CV joints and new rear tyre for flat spot (which he said he would fix) and they fried my battery in the Jeep after having a go at a repair, these things found by my independant mechanic after his chum 'mechanic' Waltham Mechanical gave both new WOFs, when I complained he told me I bought 'bush bash, old worn out vehicles' and I should expect that 'take it to court you won't win' I paid full/high market value!! and I certainly didn't see that advertising on his billboard, come on in buy your bush bash vehicles here!!!" 18K is not chump change ahole! refuses to repair after first attempt

The salesmen in this company are the most dishonest and disgraceful person I have ever meet. Shame on you! I saw other negative reviews on Google about this car dealer, I feel so regret I bought a car from it. When I walked in the company and made a quick decision to buy a Ford Focus which was recommended by Peter. He said he has a similar age daughter as me, and I asked, which car do you recommend to your daughter if she needs a car? He said, just this Ford Focus. Then I paid that car by cash. And the boss of the company said we will look after you because you young lady walked in and bought a car by yourself. Then one month later, the car was broken with main transmission problem on the way home. The worst thing is my 2 years old daughter was in the car! Shame on you Peter, Shame on your innocent daughter! Then the Ford Focus stayed in Mechanic for over one month. They said they can’t get a new transmission spare part so they give it a second hand one. When I picked it up after he said it was fixed. I found it can’t be started. Peter gave it a jump start and asked me to drive it home. I doubted whether the battery has some problem, he said no problem at all. Then last Sunday, when I was in the supermarket car park and ready to go home, I found I can’t start the car again! I promise I didn’t let the lights on. I called Peter and he said “I can’t do anything to help you, I am having lunch with my friends” And his boss is away too. Fine! you are having fun on weekend, I am stuck in nowhere with your rubbish car!!! Shame on you the Boss, is this the way how you look after me???? Then I called a jump start service and paid $120 by myself. The furious thing is this morning, when I was ready to send my daughter to preschool and then go to work, the damn car can’t be started again!!!! Cathedral Car Company, if you are not a shame of New Zealand, please do two things: 1. Apologize to me and others who had bad experience from you. 2. Refunding me

I couldn't have wished for a better experience. Peter Jones was friendly, helpful and obliging. And the vehicle he sold us exceeded our expectations. We had a very comfortable 'delivery' drive back to Cambridge. I would have no hesitation in purchasing from him again - or recommending him to others. Many thanks!

I'm glad the rudeness of the staff here is common and wasn't just me. I've spent the last week trawling through just about every yard around Moorhouse ave, and the standard for service has been really good. I went in today as I believed I had made a decision on what I wanted. After investigating if they were even open I went into the office to find an older gentleman who couldn't be bothered to get out of his seat. I politely expressed my interest in the car that I wanted, and requested a test drive. you'd have to show me the colour of your money first

Bought a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 from Peter jones who apparently is the owner of this shady company.Assured me the vehicle was immaculate.When i finally got it from the ferry terminal in Wellington, my heart sank by just the look of it.Here’s what i found:1. Left fog lamp broken2. Both sides parking lamps non functional, with warnings on the driver’s display.3. Permanent water marks on the entire body that wouldn’t come off.4. Spilled lubricant on the passenger side seat.5. Muddy interior.6. Exhaust pipe rattle.7. Serviced with cheap as oil as found by Mercedes Wellington.8. Rattle from the front wheels when going over 80 kmph.9. Broken wipers.10. Worn out front wheel brushes.So overall, i have spent over $2500 just to repair the vehicle. Full report available from Gazley Mercedes.This company has a dodgy mechanic that passes wofs no matter what’s going on with the vehicle. In the end when i confronted him about the condition of the car, ge blamed it on Jeff’s transport and BlueBridge ferry!Basically he’s selling death traps.If you want to live and not waste money, don’t buy vehicles from this guy.
