Flew for the first time with AirNZ last July. Absolutely my last time. My itinerary was Singapore- Auckland-Queenstown. The Queenstown leg was cancelled without explanation 6 hrs before my flight from Sg. Couldnt contact Customer Service. Flew to Auckland and queued for 2 hrs to find out that there was nothing they can do. We ended up driving from Auckland to Queenstown. Never again.

Not surprised to see so many 1 star reviews. Takes average of 2-3 hours to answer your phone call and cut me down as soon as they pick up your phone call for technical issue. Then no calling back!!!Rediculous! Staff were very professional, giving me solutions which I have tried and won't work. They said they send email for me to pay, THREE TIMES! NOT EVEN ONE RECEIVED, ONLY RECEIVING THEIR ADS! Have to call back again. Won't tell you there is service fee booking over the phone until you pay. Then booking my flight to another city I have never mentioned. I then have to listen to another 2 hours of horrible music! Since my credit is in another currency, I can't book flight departing from Auckland, have to do this over the phone. Spent more than 12 hours to book one flight, can you believe it? Are you even operating ???

Delayed the flight for hours on end, then boarded the plan, then sat on the plane for 2 hours? How long does it take to load the plane for the next flight.People missed their connector flights as result.Just go with Qantas to be safe.

Over the past couple of years Air New Zealand has completely gone to the dogs. Absolutely garbage customer service.Last minute canceled flights for no good reason forcing me to book last minute flights with another airline for 3x the price. UNRELIABLE! If you are booking flights you need to count on and are not looking for extra pain in your life DONT BOOK WITH THESE CLOWNS!

Have flown numerous times including quite a bit recently.Mostly it's OK.Staff generally ok. Except Invercargill staff. I find them less amicable and have issues with them and I have some problem with the attitude and service from some of them.The seats on the ATRs are as hard as rocks to sit onBut generally flight staff are ok.I find the current video on the 320s etc rather offensive .Steeped in Maori paganism rather than just culture is far from my liking and particularly irrelevant to a large percentage of Air New Zealand passengers.Air New Zealand may call it a cultural presentation but it not - its a paganism presentation.

1 star too much . I have made a number of complaints since March 31st. My family (3 altogether) traveled from India through Singapore to NZ on the 30th of March and got here on the 31st of March. The reason to choose Air NZ was thinking you were best in this route but I was wrong. My dad is diabetic and was not even provided water and food that was pre-ordered a month ago. My parents and my sister had a very tough time on the flight and came down dehydrated and starving. The aircrew was too rude and provided no proper service. I complained about the same and I requested a response but no response is achieved to date. This is unacceptable and I will have to complain to consumer protection if I do not hear from you. I want a proper response and my refund back.

Air crew on permanent hire contracts are the biggest detriment to service standards and it showed on my flight with one staff in particular being very rude.She simply could not be bothered to help other passengers close the overhead baggage, standing idly by whilst shorter passengers struggled. Maybe it’s not in her JD to help? It seems that these permanent hires forget that they are in the hospitality industry?Furthermore, cabin bag restrictions weren’t followed strictly, resulting in too little space for all passengers. Why enact a 23kg checked in baggage rule post Covid (it is usually 30kg), only to let everyone overload the cabins? Air NZ, you are losing profits because your cabin crew are lazy.Lastly, online check in was not available if you booked thru an online travel agent. Even calling their call center could not help. Not sure how this affects an airline’s profitability since they lost some revenue to the agency commissions but this smells more like corporate incompetence and the luxury of being one of few carriers flying to NZ.Air NZ, your service is a failure. Perhaps you are better off paying to let go of all the old air crew and bring in new blood on short term contracts.

I flew with air new zealand for the first time travelling from auckland to san francisco. My experience with them was amazing. I was in economy and i did not pay for any meals, how ever They gave me free lunch and dinner. They allowed us to have free drinks aswell. There was 1 guy that was soooo lovely his customer service was top notch. All the staff where amazing. I had a 12 hour flight and they made it so comforting and amazing to fly with them. I would highly recommend flying with air new zealand. Amazing air lines.

1 star is too high as my experience is awful! I received an email that the airplane is cancelled due to flood in Auckland at 4am (7 hours before the departure time). And a following email said the new flight arrangement will be informed within 48 hours.Because my holiday is over and I need to back to work, I don’t want to wait for 48 hours. After several attempts to call Air New Zealand failed- just no one answer the phone for hours of waiting online, I had no choice but went to the counter in the Auckland airport, hoping to confirm the new flight schedule ASAP. I queued in a super long line for NINE HOURS and the airline counter closed ON TIME at 22:30! The counter staff gave me a number card, saying they will serve me first with this number card tomorrow. However, when I showed up in the counter next day with the number card, the SAME staff said this number card is invalid and asked me to start from the beginning of the waiting line! Not to mention the staff’s attitude was super rude, just like they are not responsible to this mess at all!In addition, there is no email regarding to my new flight schedule even after 60 hours!This is my first time to travel with Air NZ and I believe it is also the last time! Until now I still can’t believe this experience is from an airline under New Zealand country name!

Flew Auckland to Wellington then Wellington to Auckland the next day. Beautiful A320 aircraft, checking in was simple ( kiosk) flights were slightly delayed due to fog. In flight staff were... Nice and efficent but.. cold... almost disinterested. With a my flights being short there was no in flight meal but hot and cold drinks and sweets were served.I feltl the saftey video was more focused on a narrative that interwove saftey messages throughout. Love the video.. but I have been more explicit with the safey points.The announcements at both airports for Air NZ were spoken too fast.Genuinely couldn't fault Air New Zealand overall... it all seemed to work well.I flew Domestic flights only.
