Karori West Normal School

A wonderful school. The staff are incredibly skilled, professional and kind. They have made our children's experience at the school simply great. I'd recommend it without hesitation .

When the Janices left, the school went downhill fast. The replacement principal was inept and a useless manager. It's way too easy to rise through the education ranks if you are Maori. The results are catastrophic for communities, like West Karori. Only strong, determined leadership can reverse this lamentable damage. I was strongly opposed to Shabba the Hutt's appointment. The board of trustees are solely to blame. A disgraceful lack of judgement. Get rid of them and start again. Kids' futures are being flushed away right now. Lame!!! The only reason I gave it two stars is because its so easy to escape and go to the dairy across the road. Then travel further on to the park.

Our kid still has nightmares about how the last principal treated them. Hope things have improved now...

Looks like something is very off with this school and has been for sometime judging by some of these reviews. I personally know of bullying by kids and teachers, and when parents complain, nothing is done.Kids are having to leave the school to find something better. But sometimes the kids have to take a class there from the school they go to, and teachers have been singling them out knowing they left Karori West for better teaching etc.The principle and the school board need to look into what's happening. Maybe ministry of education too.

Absolutely horrible once we got new principal it all went downhill you don’t learn anything and there’s only one good teacher of you want your kids to get bullied not learn anything and have bad mental health than send them here

Quite a lot of bullying and when it happened all the teachers did was say Stop" which makes me mad. Someone I know had their belongings thrown away by other students and nothing was done about it. It mostly went downhill after the new principal came after Janice. The staff are nice though. The education could be better ."

It's okay, not the best school.In year 6 a teacher told the whole class while I was gone, that if I start crying ignore them"They don't teach you things properly. I was taught algebra so badly that I had to relearn it in highschool.There was a lot of bullying to but the teachers did nothing about it :/Classmate started getting symptoms of deppresion when they was here because they were getting bullied and the teachers did nothing about it"

A lot of bullying at this school and staff just ignore it. Send your kids elsewhere if you can...they will be much happier.

Fabulous staff, always getting to know your child's personal needs. My children are third generation students.
