Beautiful location and scenery. Interesting carved items scattered through the campsite and a good selection of birds that go over and animals. There are a few walks that can be enjoyed here also. Basic facilities but they are kept clean tidy.

Gem in Hawkes Bay. Lovely for an night or twos getaway. Good area for tents or campers. Water must be boiled. Toilets available. Canoeing on lake (small yachts too). Fishing, walks and bird watching. Or just sitting around having a chat and a brew.

I have stayed here several times on the way up north, and it is always a great experience. The lake, bird life, and walks right on your doorstep make it the perfect location. A big shout out to the local council for allowing us to stay here.

Lake Tutira Camping Area
One of my favourite campsites, feels really safe and serene. The lake is beautiful to swim in (signs mention duck itch, but none of us or any of the other campers we talked to experienced it), there is water taps, the toilets seem pretty well looked after, and overall just really scenic and lovely. We intended to only stay a night, and ended up staying 4! Was busy just after new years, but had almost totally cleared out by the 7th. The walk to the Pa site is well worth it, some really nice native bush planting. Keep an eye out for loads of native birds, freshwater mussels, friendly ducks, trout, and carp! Also was cool to see the conservation work they are doing there. The Tutira store was also close by, but didn't really have much apart from icecream, drinks, and hot chips (no bread/groceries etc), so you will need plenty of your own supplies!

Beautiful Camping area, well away from the road, adjacent to a serene lake where no powerboats are allowed, only paddling and fishing. Good toilets and water on tap provided.
