I just had a really poor experience with a staff member at this store who was really rude and condescending. Still being newish to the city I thought I could donate at this location so had hurried over to get there just before closing time, just to drop off my donation. They’d closed a few minutes early and the door was verbally slammed in my face. I was told it was “clear” I couldn’t donate there. A very poor response for a simple misunderstanding to an intended gesture of good will. In all honestly I have also yet to buy something here, it’s a great concept that I was initially excited about, but anything of worth seems very overpriced. E.g. a second hand Roomba for $100 when I last visited. They really need to rethink there business model, and explain it to that staff member, who has just significantly discouraged me from donating (to the correct location) in the future.

Love this place I feel like it embodies the spirit of the kiwi way, friendly staff and great vibe. Perfect to replace hard to find broken items in your kitchen or life, or even buy a rice cooker for 15 dollar because your sick of boiling rice. Highly recommend

Not gonna lie, my favourite place in Christchurch. Sometimes I go just to browse and I don't buy anything, but the ethos of the store is amazing and its a haven for DIYers and those who also believe in minimising waste. You won't always find some hidden gem, but there's no lack of flippable items or really interesting finds. My favourites are a small pouf/ottoman, a massive wooden print of Potala Palace in Tibet, and an awesome set of Japanese woodcut themed coasters I spent 45 minutes diving for in the coaster bins. Can spend HOURS here, it's very dangerous!

Really cool shop, huge collection of useful stuff, this is the best dump shop we've come across in all of New Zealand. Staff are super friendly, the shop is great for just browsing, incredible collection of highly affordable toys. Kids love going here too!

Was helped by the manager today to buy a desk I didn’t get their name but they were tall and red-headed, 20/10 lovely person very helpful and gave us a completely seem less shopping experience :)

Pretty cool place. Like a big extensive second hand shop without the clothes. Lots to find here and the feelings of nostalgia are certain to hit you. Staff have always been lovely and helpful to open a new checkout when there is a queue forming. Prices are great and there is surely something anyone and everyone can find at the Eco Shop.

has all the bits and bobs you might need that you can't find in your garage or anywhere else at good prices, amazing customer service! the lady at the cash out was very welcoming and kind, giving off an positive vibe.
