I wanted to like this place but just can’t get pass the point that everything was soaked in the same favour, same sauce, regardless of what we ordered. On top of that the salmon wasn’t the freshest and the duck was chewy. Their drink menu is good though, with a variety of sake and Japanese liquor.Still wouldn’t rush back though.

We were returning to Auckland from Wellington and staying in Rotorua. We drove to the restaurant and found it was on the ground floor of a hotel. We were lucky to get the last table at 7:30. So reservations are required and places are limited.This is the restaurant we have eaten in New Zealand with a very Japanese environment and taste. The chef is very enthusiastic. Food is very tasty. A big thank you to the chef and staff, we ate until they got off work. If you like Japanese BBQ, this place is worth visiting.

Really bad experience.To start with, we arrived @6pm and were the first arrived & firstly placed the order. However, it took an hour for our order to arrive, after we seen another three tables were served. I don’t really understand how it works here. I guess some of them are regular customers and we just seem like tourists? Even so, an hour is way too long for anyone to wait, which is unacceptable.Also, all the sckwers were dry some were burnt. I don’t assume that people would appreciate their food cooked like this.To conclude, waited an hour and spent over a hundred on some dry and burnt food, had high expectations but very disappointed. Very.

Restaurant decoration was nice, but i give 1 star for the food, beef was hard to chew, chicken liver was bitterness. Price was unreasonable high.

It was a very bad experience. I was here a year ago and it was good, but this time my friends and I made a reservation for a total of 16 people to come here, but an hour passed and hardly any food was served, we were forced to cancel all the orders, for the already made ,the dishes are also completely different from the original ones.I think everything has changed here.

The place is located inside a hotel which is hard to find. The service is okay , but the food is overrated from here. The sauce is salty and sweet for every meet and even on rice ball. The worst part was the overcooked meet so all meet taste same to me , just too chewy and saucy!

Yummm!! We had no idea that Rotorua had a Yakitori restaurant – and it's been here for 18 years. The food was amazing (great skewers and delicious Okonomiyaki), friendly service and a wonderful atmosphere.

absolutely disappointed. took almost 1 hour for food to arrive just to see small platters of food. ordered two pancakes, both were raw and can taste the batter inside. workers don't even know what skewer is what and are so careless with customers. i definitely do not recommend coming here.
