OFFA bakery

I don't want to review Offa. Why? Because it will bring more traffic into Browns Bay, making parking even more difficult on weekends.But if I had to put my own selfish convenience aside for a second, I would tell you that Offa is one of those small hidden gems. Completely innocent looking until you manage to stuff one of their pastries into your face.I have never, in 40 years, had a better almond croissant before. Their cheesecake is a rival to my own (and I rate mine as the best) and the people behind the counter are, dare I say it, lovelier than the baked goods they're selling. You go for the pastries, you stay for the smile kind of thing.They sell fresh barista-style coffee as well, perfect to go along with your treats. There are even a few chairs and tables to relax at. Get there early because they do tend to sell out quickly.Come to Browns Bay early in the morning for Offa, then shoot over to The Stoned Cow for brunch - and enjoy the beautiful beach in between. Actually no, forget I said that. My parking is at risk, after all.

Huge letdown..Drove quite far to try these. Pastries looking nice, got chocolate and vanilla (the lady said it is vanilla cream). The dough is nice but nothing inside, bland and dry. For $9 a pastry one expects something special. Cardamom bun had 0 cardamom in it (you can see it even on the photos). Just bland pastry. Coffee was also a bit odd taste and I love Ozone.

Amazing food - we tried a few things and they were all great. Best almond croissant we've found in Auckland so far too (and we've tried a lot!) Highly recommend the vanilla cream and salted caramel pastry.

Romi is a wonderfully talented baker. Sesame seed bagels are fab, as is the challah bread. My husband loves the honey and blue cheese pastries.

Superb baked goods, IMO much better than the French places nearby. Thanks goodness they don't open earlier when I'm on my morning walk, or I'd be in there all the time. Nice work ladies.

The best bakery on Browns Bay (and I've tried all bakeries around) and maybe in whole Auckland (tried many, but not all :))). Definitely the best almond croissants I've tried, quiches are out of this world, brioches with fillings are heaven. Another level of baking, like they are using some secret recipes, different from everyone else. I am a big fan (and getting bigger with every visit))

Lovely abundant selection of both sweet and savoury options as well as specialty items like Jewish bagels and challah bread. The flavour combinations are innovative - like cherry and almond or mushroom and caramelized onion. Beautifully presented and very very tasty. A new Browns Bay staple!

We stopped in this morning for a coffee and a pastry for breakfast. I wish I had taken some photos. They have an awesome selection of sweet and savoury pastries. I got the cherry and ricotta one, absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Well done, we will definitely be back! Service was excellent too.

The best bakery on the Shore. There's nothing else like it. A gourmet feast to the eyes and the belly. If you want to take something special to someone, go there!! Highly recommend it.

We went to this place to buy some bread, but unfortunately they only sell bread on Friday to Sunday. However, we bought and tried their almond croissant and chocolate brownie and OMG they were sooooo good! The almond croissant was honestly the most decent croissant I have found in the Northshore and the chocolate brownie has just the right moist level and brown and white chocolate. They're also well priced and the atmosphere is clean, fresh, and homey. We will definitely try to drop by again to try their bread.
