Fresco Shades

Great shades until you need warranty work done, and then this company is next to useless. You can email and call for months, and you will either get fobbed off, or wont get a reply at allThis has been very disappointing, and frustrating, especially for something that I have to look at each day, which is still in need of repair

UPDATE after reply***The debris Richard collected at the time of his visit was one handful across a ten metre gutter (since It’s still flooding without the debris so that didn’t rectify the problem). We are still waiting on the updated quote to move forward. Richard did mention he was able to sort this issue before he went away. It would’ve been nice to hear from him so we will continue to wait. We fully understood the issues discussed on the day about the low point, and that’s why we wanted works done on it (albeit not having any problems before this). ***We got our Fresco shade installed about 16 months ago after a lot of research and comparison between a number of companies. We were pleased with the whole process from start to finish and have enjoyed having the shade outside, especially in summer. That was until we encountered a problem. From the beginning of this year, with the above average rainfall, we started to have major leaks which allowed the rainfall to penetrate between the gutter and the shade, ending up in our outdoor area. This has resulted in damages to our outdoor furniture, rug and also caused the outdoor sensor light to break. We contacted the consultant at Fresco who initially dealt with us, only to be ignored email after email………we later found out that he ignored that email as it coincided with him leaving for a different job.We then contacted the owner/director of the company to let him know the issues we had been having as it was now on more than one occasion that we experienced these troublesome leaks. He was quick to reply at the beginning and offered to come and have a look. He came on 24 June 2022 to assess the problem and we discussed some possible solutions to alleviate the problem and assured us it was possible to sort in a couple of weeks. We had to send numerous emails and calls after this point in the hopes of securing a quote and a date. His replies were very delayed and once we eventually did hear back from him with a quote (that now needs changing), he could still not give us a date since Fresco had a “huge backlog”. I understand that these are busy times, however, his level of communication leaves much to be desired. Even as I write this on 4 August, nothing has been arranged and I am still yet to hear back from him with the updated quote and a time, and this is despite having recurrent leakages and the gutters having been cleared recently which has the potential to cause further damage to not only our outdoor area but also the possibility of water entering the house.When he visited on 24 June, he made every effort to emphasise that the cause of the leak was largely due to the gutters having debris, but they were only cleared ten days prior to his visit and it is unrealistic for the consumer to clear gutters on a weekly basis in order to prevent leakages. We do not have large trees around us and have never encountered gutter problems. I wonder if the same lack of communication would have occurred if I was a new customer wanting a quote for a shade installation. While I understand this issue may not be on the top of their priority, I am truly disappointed at this terrible after-service communication. He had some possible solutions up his sleeve which we were happy to accept and move forward with, but he is showing no signs of taking ownership of what he has promised us with. We had to request a change to the plumbing work and are still waiting for this updated quote a month after his visit. With every moderate/heavy rainfall, we are still having leak problems despite having clear gutters, and will definitely not be recommending Fresco to anyone until our problem is rectified. We believe this was a design fault whereby the installers miscalculated the drainage capacity needed with the additional surface area. We believe that urgent attention should have been given to this job particularly with this wet weather as we do not enjoy being outside as much anymore and the shade has now become more of a liability as it continues to cause damage to our outdoor items.

We are very happy with this product. We spent a very long time trying to find what we wanted and when these guys showed up we were very impressed. Great service and product knowledge from Matt. Installation guys were impressive with there efficiency and left the place clean and tidy. Would totally recommend this product to anyone. Brilliant!

We're very happy with our outdoor blinds. It makes our lives easy now. Before our blinds used zipper and you have to roll it up to clip it. Now it's very easy, you just slide it up and slide it down. Not only that but we did wanted our blinds to be install on a specific time, earlier than their timeframe for installation. Richard and Anel worked together to make it happen. And it did. Thank you Fresco Shades.

This project was completed within the time frame agreed to and according to quote and plans. We are extremely happy with our dealings with Mathew Barker especially his knowledge of the product, his communication, and his ability to solve any problems. At no time did we have any doubts about proceeding with the project once we decided to proceed. The guys installing the frame, curtains and canopy also knew what they were doing, were efficient, polite and a pleasure to deal with. As a result, this made the installation and finished product an exciting and enjoyable process. We are very impressed and happy with the final product. Would recommend to anyone wanting a high quality product.

We live in a rural area and fresco were more than happy to come and give us a quote. We had several other companies come out but they seemed to be less than happy to actually do the job and seemed to find so many obstacles to make it harder and more expensive. Richard from fresco suggested some ideas and then gave us a quote. He discussed this with the designer and came up with a better design to suit our house and it was actually a bit cheaper. They came and installed the roof at the time they said and were easy to communicate with through out the process. Today they installed the curtains and I cannot speak highly enough of the whole process. From quote to installation was seemless and professional. Even cleaning up was awesome. Love our new room and we should have done it years ago. Thank you all so much.

UPDATE:Fresco Canopy + Christmas lights for the win!We love the effect so much they're now a permanent feature. 3 strings of lights that can be controlled independently, so we can light to match the mood.Nga mihi nui***********Huge thank you to the team who put up our canopy a few weeks ago.What a massive difference it has already made to the way we live! We've spent more time on the deck these past weeks than pretty much the rest of the year. It keeps us sheltered from blazing sun or sudden showers (typical Auckland weather) - all the benefits of being outside without the downside. The dogs thinks it's the best!Props to Gary who did an AMAZING job with the clear curtains!It was a big job under a blazing sun and he worked really hard to get the job done.We really appreciated the great clean up job both crews did too. It's the attention to detail that makes all the difference.We are LOVING IT!!! Wish we had done this sooner.Ka kite ano. We'll be back for the final end piece and curtains early next year (in time for winter!)
