Glacier Valley Eco Tours
We booked the Fox Glacier Nature Tour and Cliff was our guide. The walk was 5 km return, and was a little challenging at times (both in our 60’s). Cliff was great, and would stop to highlight points of interest and so we could have a little rest. The views of the Glacier were spectacular and the cuppa and biscuits at the end of the track before our return walk was most welcome.We would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to learn more about glaciers and New Zealand in general, as Cliff was a fountain of knowledge.

Had a great day doing the walk to look at Fox Glacier followed by a stroll to the lake. Just the two couples with Cliff as guide. Great pace and the hot drinks along the walk were brilliant. That second chocolate chip cookie kept the energy levels up ;)

Great tour with lots of fun information about the glacier valley geology and ecology! Our guide David was very friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend. We did the Franz Joseph 2 Hour Tour.

Thanks Cliff for an insightful and educational tour.Is was more than just what plants or birds we saw, but he brought the area and it's history to light.The use of little used and partly forgotten tracks made it a lot more personal. This took us off the main DOC paths , into areas that only a professional guide can do. We felt that we could go as a hard or slow as we wanted.Even tea and biscuits.Good job guys.

Had a super experience with guide Sophie on our Franz Josef Glacier Lookout Guided Walk. A nice walk with some great views and a constant stream of interesting information about the local flora and fauna and geological phenomenons, as well as a constant flow of positive energy. With a guide you also access of-track areas off limits to the general public, where you can take in more of the nature and get close to the river in the valley. Worth every cent to get this experience rather than just hiking up to the lookout on your own.

This walking tour was fabulous and it was great being out in nature. Our guide, Kath, was so enthusiastic about the hike and her knowledge of the plants and wildlife along the path was great. Loved the cup of hot tea while getting a great view of the glacier. It was nice that they provided transportation to and from our hotel. Would recommend this is you have a love of nature.

Really nice tour. Sophie was a super knowledgeable guide and took us through some really interesting bits of the glacier. Particularly enjoyed the scrambling through the rocks, jumping across stepping stones and climbing through the forest to get back to the start!Lots of varied geological facts and birdlife on this trip. Really enjoyed, thanks guys!
