Lovely atmosphere, hadn't been for awhile, saw a change in the menu, thought would try again.Had the lamb rack $54 really expensive & dissapointing for what it was, the fat wasn't rendered at all & it could of had the bones tied up instead of still having the skin on them. $148 for 2 people.Very average, probably wont go back.

Very disappointed. It really was a bad experience. The portions and quality of the food are far from what they charge for them. In a group of 5 only 1 was satisfied with the food ( it was a regular salad). The rest of the food was awful. The salmon was crazy salty, the chicken had an extremely strong and bad flavour and the fish was awful. We had to send back the fish and change it for another salad. It was kind of weird, because it was the 2nd salad and it supposed to be the same as the 1st, but it had a different flavour and presentation. The service was surprisingly bad, compared with the rest of New Zealand. Sadly I cannot recommend this place.

Very pleasantly surprised I live so close and have never been the salads are absolutely beautiful not the typical salad you normally get packed with flavour and freshness I had the Thai beef salad and the arancini balls both were amazing my partner had the blue cod very fresh with perfectly thin crispy batter credit to the chief ❤️

4.7 star rating for me, great price for the range of options available, I.e spa, pool, bikes, drop offs and accommodation.Lovely gardens and walkways

Although the decor is far from modern the food certainly is. The chefs at Emberz really know there food. From local produce to the vegetables grown at the nursery by the hotel. If your in town for the night or staying at the hotel make sure to have a meal at Emberz.

stay Ascot many times for work.This restaurant served gorgeous foods and service. especially Thomas is very friendly and has good smile which makes other happy too. I would like to come back here with my wife and children.I would you like to recommend Butcher's burger and Roast of the day!!

We booked a table for 10 on the 27th of May, unfortunately we were let down by the service. We were left waiting for drinks, many times having to go find someone for service. We weren't told of the specials for the day. Furthermore waiting on dessert menus with next to no interaction from staff. We opted to get dessert elsewhere. Beer seemed to taste flat, drinks took along time. The food was nice, nothing amazing for the price. The lamb rack was ordered medium and was given to us more rare/medium rare. Overall an O.K experience.

Emberz at Ascot
Lovely atmosphere, hadn't been here for a number of years and nicely surprised at the dining experience we had. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were full of flavor well presented and rather big, I certainly couldn't eat both entree and main in full. Looking at all the meals coming from the kitchen and the empty plates going back one can only say that this is a place to dine when in Invercargill.
