Westgate Bowling

Oh wow, where to start. This place is a shambles! Of the 12 lanes only 3 were fully operational. They started us on lane 4 but the gutter bump rails didn’t work so I asked for different lane (I was bowling with my kids, age 6&9), they moved us to lane 5 but the pin machine only worked intermittently so they then put us on lane 2…. Everything worked fine but half the left hand gutter bump rail was missing so my kids got quite downhearted with the gutter balls. We cancelled our second game and asked for a refund. I then bought a bag tokens for the arcade machines only to find most of them out of order and half the prize machines empty. What a miserable afternoon for my kids. Thanks Westgate Bowling.

I only went in to have a dabble on the pokies. The family were all out so I was killing time. The staff were pleasant and helpful as I needed a different chair as I have a wee mobility problem. They got me a chair I could sit in without hesitation however I has asked the boss who was going yo get one and 30 mins layer still no show. While there I went to the bathroom. Wow, nothing has changed in here for over 3 years. The toiletseat is still broken, toilet not cleaned, door yo disability loo has a massive gap so no privacy and no soap. Wow, how do they manage to stay open and why aren't they doing the maintenance which they can claim through the gaming funds.

One star for a cheap group rate! Zero for cleanliness - bathrooms were grimy and no paper in one despite it being morning! Obviously haven't been cleaned for a while! We had some issues with the scoreboards not working properly. Staff were ok but not overly friendly

About a third of the lanes weren't working. Over half the arcade machines are out of order.Better off going out of west Auckland where the venue isn't run by the trusts, and they actually stay on top of maintenance

How far this place has fallen. Half the lanes are out of order and the ones that work are run down and in various stages of decay. Bathrooms are disgusting, it’s safer to not wash your hands as you’ll most likely catch something off of the basin. If your lucky a game in the arcade might be working. Basically don’t come here for bowling, they only cater for those wanting to waste themselves into oblivion with the consumption of alcohol and those spending this months power bill on the pokies.

We had fun bowling with a kids bday party, great the kids didn't have to put on special shoes, but don't expect to come and entertain them with much else. All gaming machines were out of order and the bowling alleys were very worn and needing some maintenance.l, many were also out of order". Pokey machines out the back seemed to be in good working order tho..."

If there was a zero star option I would select that. Lady at the counter was on her phone the whole time she was dealing with me. She seemed more interested in keeping the people at the pokie machines happy over the 4 children we had with us trying to bowl. Entered names incorrectly spelt twice and then had to change lanes twice because they weren’t working. Ended up asking for our money back, which to her credit she did without any issues. Still..definitely not a child friendly environment!

I recently visited Westgate bowling and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The machines seemed to be constantly breaking down, which made it difficult to enjoy a full game. On top of that, the place looked tired and in need of refurbishing. It was clear that it had not been well-maintained.In addition to the issues with the machines, there was a noticeable lack of staff on hand to assist customers. It seemed that there were not enough employees to adequately manage the facility and provide assistance when needed.Overall, I would not recommend Westgate bowling. The combination of poorly functioning machines and a lack of staff made for a frustrating and unpleasant experience. If you're looking for a good place to bowl, I would suggest finding another location.

Went with some friends on Sunday (all 25+)The place needs some loving and fun put back into it.The lady working there was so sour. When we went to pay she didn’t say anything the whole time not even a hello. She clearly did not want to be there.The overall experience was good, atmosphere wise, there was one other couple there on a Sunday?Her service was really bad.
