ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE - STAY AWAY!- Conroy were paid to pack down our house the day before the move but sent only 1 packer, who lied to us and then left after 5 minutes without a word. He told us the rest of his team were sick with COVID.- Conroy management told us the packer had refused the job due to 'health and safety concerns'. The house was safe. The job was impossible for 1 person in a day. He came from a job half an hour before (at 9:00am) and went straight to another job. It's obvious Conroy were trying to cover for staffing shortages by lying to and blaming customers to avoid their own liability for rescheduling.- After we managed to somehow pack everything down ourselves in time for the move, they underestimated the volume of stuff by 30% (despite having an itemised list and a walk-through). Leaving us without a fridge for 3 weeks over xmas while the Nelson team waited for another delivery going in our direction.- The uplift team took great care to wrap furniture and load items for the first couple of hours but as soon as the end of the day was drawing near just started throwing boxes and items marked 'fragile' onto the pile of stuff, resulting in several breakages.- Similar happened when the stuff was unloaded. The team are friendly and ask where to put boxes for the first hour or so and then decide time's up" and dump everything in a pile in the middle of the first room.- After the final delivery with the leftover items

Edit: I wrote to them as requested. A week later, no reply. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.1. We requested delivery any day of the week except Friday.2. They called Fri morning wanting to deliver. We couldn't be available but I arranged to be home from work by 2pm so we'd manage any time after that.3. They arrived at 1.40 so I had to get home as fast as possible.4. The two men unloading were polite and efficient, HOWEVER:5. Whoever packed our things at the other end had ignored the provided inventory and packed furniture we didn't want, and more than three huge boxes of stuff that DOESN'T EVEN BELONG TO US.6. Several things were severely damaged, including a custom built wooden bookshelf. I was devestated and asked what they planned on doing about it.7. They asked if we'd bought insurance and we had, so they shrugged, made a few notes and left.8. Insurance excess is $350. Basically, we've been ripped off and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT YOUR POSSESSIONS TO ARRIVE UNDAMAGED.

What a great company to be working with.We received a call from Grant who was helping his elderly and somewhat confused clients to move house recently.The clients had contacted us for a quote to clean their house after vacating, but we'd not heard back and could not reach them by phone or email when trying to check if things were in hand.They had been too busy and too stressed to remember who they'd contacted for what and had not checked emails for some weeks and their landline was cut off when we tried calling them, unfortunately no mobile number was provided.Come moving day, Grant was concerned about his clients and their situation, he agreed to try and find who they'd had quote and check when they were coming to clean.His first call happened to be to us, and we were the company who'd quoted but not had any reply so nothing booked for the following two days as needed!We were lucky to be able to juggle things and schedule the work and Grant was more than helpful for the next couple of days with communication, access to the house and pulling the strings together for everyone.Thanks you Grant, moving is so stressful and these older clients sure were in a pickle and couldn't of engaged the service of someone who cared more and all with an easy, stress free manner and so willing to go the extra mile for us all!We hope to work with you again sometime.Regards, Tracy

We had only problems with this company, our moving was a nightmare. They didn't communicate between the branches from Whangarei to Nelson. Always asking our address, didn't communicate the information we gave us, for instance, for a drop off, they didn't use a blanket to protect a table as we asked, we told them there were some flooding in our area, so the truck could be stuck and they didn't care, so the truck couldn't pass. No answer from email or voice mails. Pick up and drop off at different days we planned without communicating on the delays. Lots of our belongings were broken ; pictures, fishing cane, broom, bed, shoes rack....At the drop off, most of our items were not labelled and the manager had to review them.

We chose to use Conroy's, because their quote was one of the two most expensive (at almost 7k), out of the 7 we got- We thought- mistakenly in hindsight - that we would get superior service.While the packing of small items for the shift from Wellington to Tasman was impeccable, the handling of packed boxes and larger items was poor. We ended up with scratches on our dining table and bookcase, chips out of our mid-century unit, and coffee table. Boxes marked top stow only, were packed on the bottom resulting in broken items, including three items from an heirloom dinner set, a broken lamp, and two broken picture frames.Plus a large chip to an exterior corner of a red painted wall in our new house.I pointed out the issues to the local manager- who did not respond to my texts, so I had to ring him directly.To his credit, after pointing out they held no responsibility, he did pay us a visit and offered, at their expense to repair, the items-While the items were collected- sadly, the coffee table and dining table after being away for 3 weeks were not repaired- I was told the table scratches were existing (which was really disappointing, as the table had some marks from use, but I had pointed out new major circular scratches). Also, they were unable to repair the coffee table and take it up with insurer.I await the return of the rest of our items from repair".My advice

I would have to say I was extremely impressed with all aspects of my experience with Conroy Removals from my first contact for a quote provided by the Nelson Branch to pick up an antique oak table and chairs from Tauranga to Grovetown, Blenheim, to the followup on delivery details and delivery itself. All items arrived safely and without damage, so a big thankyou to Tim and his helper, Truck 255, delivery 17/3/2020. Amazing Service that went beyond my expectation!

Huge disappointment! My beautiful Yamaha piano was left uncovered in the Nelson storage shed and staff admitted 'they had a tinkle on it' while I waited days for it to be delivered. Poor communication about delivery date and time and then proceeded to drop the piano on our front entrance steps which then needed to be repaired. Staff were rude and used foul language in front of my children. I would not trust Conroy's with precious instruments or any of your gear, they are disrespectful and lack the skills to care for your belongings. Management claimed they would 'make it right' but only refunded a tiny portion of our overall moving/handling costs. Will never use them again.

Thanks for a great service team. Had a lounge suite delivered from Nelson to Blenheim today and the guys were friendly, helpful and careful in moving, unwrapping and setting up the furniture. Thank you very much. Katrina.

We went with conroys after a few people recommended them. This was our first professional move. We got a quote from conroys to move our household from northland to blenheim, which we were happy with. we packed our own stuff and the service from conroys covered bubble wrapping of tvs, furniture to be wrapped in blankets, beds and sofas in plastic covers, unload into rooms.The crew who arrived to uplift were friendly, all our stuff was ready in the garage apart from a few pieces of furniture, for them to load. Couches were thrown in with just a blanket over them, beds and matresses no protection at all, tvs were wrapped in a blanket, not bubble wrap and we were told to take the 2 smaller tvs with us.. 2/3rds of the way through loading, they ran out of blankets, the rest of our things were thrown in unprotected, I gave them a couple of covers I had laying around. On arrival in blenheim 3 crew turned up to unload, one walked off after 10mins. My husband and I had to help unload. The load had moved which you can expect, but with items not protected, things got damaged. I put in a claim and was expected to pay the excess. I said I wasn't paying the excess as everything that was damaged, was so, due to insufficient packing on their part. I paid for a service which I did not receive, and the outcome was items were damaged. Everything I packed, was still intacked. I did get my excess back, but no partial refund on the service I paid for. Very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend. The crew at the blenheim were great.

Really helpful staff who went above and beyond in ensuring our cabinets were delivered in a timely and professional manner. Not only did they help move a large mirror to make way for the cabinets but they also offered to take all the packaging away with them. Highly recommended.
