Excellent quality and quantity of food! The service was friendly and thoughtful! Will stop anytime driving to or from Auckland on the way to Napier! The creamy pasta chicken, spinach w cashews wasn’t mentioned for me to recommend… so consider it HIGHLY recommended! FRESH pasta!Went back on the way back to Auckland on Boxing Day and was turned away because they were closing early… it was 2:30 we were soooo bummed!

Came in for lunch and was not disappointed. The portions were good and tasty. Coffee was a little on the weak side for the large size but it was decent.Would recommend those around the area to give this place a try. Parking available outside as well.

Great spot to stop for lunch! They have gluten free options. I got the pork belly sliders and they were delicious- pork belly was *really* crispy.

Waited over an hour for chips.Young barista girl is very sour and needs to work on her customer service and attitude.Young Indian man Sahil needs to not add things you didn't order to your order. Got a Coke in a can comes over with another Coke in a glass and lemon lime bitters we didn't order told us we ordered it and had to take it and continued to charge us.Understand your short staffed but you still have enough time to stand and chat at the front?$15 for a sundae that takes 5 minutes." Yeah

Many years ago we stumbled upon The Wooden Farmer. It was a bright Wintery day and we came in from the cold for soup and sliders that were hot and tasty. A mind-blowing surprise considering the roadside appeal. An oasis, in Putāruru. Not 2 words you’d usually expect in the same sentence. Fast forward to now.Hmmmmmm.The Bushman Breakkie at only $20 had to be a win. Surely? That was the Favourite Husband taken care of, but I fancied something different. Smashed avo and added bacon. From my seat I could see our food sitting on the pass for a good 10 minutes before it came out. That’s never going to help. The Favourite Husband’s looked ok, but it was predictably cold. We can be sure that no mushrooms were harmed in the making of the creamy mushrooms. This was basically just cream. It was underwhelming. But it was only $20 and the Favourite Husband will eat pretty much anything. Now - many would argue, why choose smashed avo when you don’t eat the bread? Because I wanted something different. Which I got. But not in a good way. The quarter of an avocado that I scraped off the bread was either brown from sitting on the pass for 2 weeks or so smothered in the sweet balsamic glaze that it was unrecognisable. I think the photos speak for themselves. The bacon was tasty though. I’d have starved to death without it.The rest rooms were dirty and in desperate need of a refurb. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, door not locking properly etc.Shame, it used to be worth a visit but no more. This was bad.
