Old Coach Road Bike Trail
Had lots of beautiful scenery and was worth the ride- best ridden on e- bikes to power over the extreme terrains in areas. Needs some tender loving care because it is getting quite damaged by weather. Some tricky steep parts as well but otherwise a scenic ride.

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
We walked from the car park to the viaducts- did not bike. Good easy walk with nice views of 2 viaducts on New Zealand’s main trunk line - old and new.Not a lot of the walk is shaded, most is in the open. Informative signs along the way.One suggestion:When you reach the point where the straight path goes inside the tunnel and the right turn goes to viaducts, take the right turn. You cannot exit from the tunnel to the other side.

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
This is one of my favourite bike tracks in NZ! You get to bike along the old coach road that was the main road in the last century connecting Auckland and Wellington! Trail is perfect for all cyclists levels, has some really cool views and attractions along the way! Highly recommend to bike on the old viaduct and abandoned tunnel, I had adrenaline when being there)

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
Sore bum. We rented e-bikes from Ohakune and we’re transported to the start of the trail at Horopito. We took the ride slowly and as one of our group said “I enjoyed it more than I hated it”. We were not cycle fit and the e-bikes helped us up the hills. So scenic and great to stop and read the signs. Riding on the cobbles left us with sore behinds but we were so glad we did it.

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
Really enjoy this trail! Have ridden it twice and walked once. Lots to look at and the the views are stunning. My recommendation, start in Ohakune if you plan to ride out and back, the ride back is lots of fun!

Great trial for advanced rider it's pretty rugged at the moment needs a good groom. I was not on a ebike though. Beautiful scenery to.

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
10/10 for this bike ride. It's a lot shorter than I expected but we did do it on ebikes which I highly recommend as the trail is very narrow and uphill in some parts were it would be very hard on a bike. Views are amazing and it's so remote, peaceful and quite. Absolute winner.

Great easy bike ride. Only took a few hours and wasn't too physically demanding. The parts through the bush were especially nice and seeing the old railway bridges. The historical information along the way was very interesting too.

Old Coach Road Bike Trail
What a stunning place. Absolutely Breathtaking. We have started from Horopito as it is easier to go down rather than going uphill all the time. Very tidy, nice scenary and the spirit of history all along the Trail. A lot of bridges and a tunnel! Also the Track is being maintained as we could see the equipment parked along the Trail. I would definitely come back again and again and would put this Trail as a 2nd pick after Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
