Black Shag Boutique Cafe
The coffee was at the right temperature and the softness of the milk matched well. The food was so delicious because it made good use of the taste of the ingredients. The staff were bright and friendly. However, the table space was narrow and the chair was uncomfortable.

Black Shag Boutique Cafe
Best coffee in NZ South/East so far. First time the coffee tasted like the fruit it came from and not like burned bread. Also it is one of the really rare places that serves awesome coffee and awesome food. Try the Turkish eggs!Make sure to also check out the lounge on the 1st floor if it is open.Oh and of course the staff was really friendly. Had to come back!

Black Shag Boutique Cafe
This place in Invercargill stacks up against similar places in Bucklame(sic) and Welli. It might stack higher since it didn't feel full of itself or too cool like other places. Great coffee, great atmosphere, cool staff, the food was really good and I liked the art for sale on the wall. Actually, the art made me realize I could bump my own prices up a touch.

Such a hip little place with delicious food and coffee(even have in house made almond/hemp milk)! Our breakfast was different from the regular run of the mill cafe brekkies and full of flavour- plus lots of GF & V options. Highly recommend.

The best eggs I have tasted in the country. Food, coffee and atmosphere as well as staff are all Beautiful. Definitely introduce the small gem of IVC to my friends and come back for more tastes next time.

Awesome little cafe, most dishes are or can be made vegan! Coffee was really good as well. Had the Breakfast bagel and banana bread French toast, both were delicious! Staff was also very kind. Definitely recommend!

Best coffee in Invercargill. The standard of espresso is not high across Invercargill but this cafe is clearly the best. It stands up on an international scale.
