Poenamo Hotel

Stayed for 1 night booked 2 rooms both rooms I cleaned myself they were disgusting asked for money back so we could stay somewhere else and we were told no and that they couldnt do anything until the next morning how ever we were given some spray and wipe to clean the room ourselves. When we spoke to someone in the morning we were told the manager would contact us didnt hear from anyone i tried to call a couple of weeks later and was told manager was on holiday but we were offered $40 off each room we still havent received anything even after multiple calls. I would definitely not recommend nor will i stay again

I My aunt had booked a five-day stay but had to leave after only two days due to the horrible service that was provided to her. Despite requesting a refund for the remaining three days that she did not stay, the hotel adamantly refused to provide any compensation.The room was noticeably dirty upon arrival and had a moldy smell to it. When we called reception to ask for someone to clean the room, they have told her to clean by herself. However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that was not the case. Even after our many requests, the room was still dirty when we returned after spending a day out.The hotel staff was generally unresponsive and unhelpful, and when my aunt requested a refund for the remaining days of her stay, they flatly refused. This was a terrible experience and an absolute waste of money. The hotel's rooms were dirty and the service was appalling. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there.

Overall enjoyed my stay comfortable beds although duvet inners under the clean sheets let it down they need replacing as they were stained. Room was serviced daily and we were happy with the clean, Liked location to bars and restaurants - I see comments about noise well if you dont like being next to some great bars and restaurants dont stay there we loved it overall great stay

Great location, friendly staff but hotel needs an upgrade. We were told that the spa does not work as the water was cold.

We stayed in the new 2 bedroom executive apartment and it was awesome, could bot fault it. We are a family of 5, had plenty of space, was great to be able to cook meals and not have to have take out everyday. Unfortunately the weather was awful while we were in Auckland, but the free use of the indoor basketball courts at the YMCA across the road because we were Poenamo guests kept my kids very happy happy!! We were very central to everything, could not fault our week long stay there!!

Filthy dirty, bathroom covered in black mould, shower hadn’t been cleaned - drain was blocked with other guests hair. Minimal cleaning done between guests. Had dirty mattress protectors on both beds. Was also very noisy with a bar underneath the room. Would not recommend to anyone - Communication with hotel is very poor

POOnamo hotel,Arrived the room looked clean (where the beds were) thought we'd go for a spa, coul asked to get it to work at all, noticed it was very dirty, also the pool was very dirty, after returning from checking out the spa we thought we would take a bath instead we started to run the bath and the water wouldn't go down. We called and asked for a plunger she didn't know what that was but soon found one for us and dropped it off(forgot to mention we didn't realise at first the bath was blocked while running to clean it out and flooded the bathroom) so I started to plunge the bathtub... black matter started coming up and THEN!!! A massive block up of hair started to come up it was about the size of a 2-3L coke bottle. I pulled it out using a towel and a knife..

Great place to stay. Good pricing and value for money. Very clean and tidy and helpful staff on checkin and checkout

Not 100% my thing. A bit too close to the road, there was a race party next door and the pool is shared with a kebab house, pub and a coffee shop. Your back of house area is actually public accessible to all people. A strange concept. It was probably a good place 50 years ago. I can't recommend it as it is run at the moment.
