My experience dealing with the team was pleasant and Eldridge was patient as I did lots of due diligence on the vehicle I was interested in buying. An independent mechanic found it had some issues, and I made an offer pending some mechanical and electrical work being done, which was accepted in writing. The fact that the vehicle was then sold to another buyer, who I’ve been led to believe was not yet informed of the issues my inspection had highlighted, along with no notification from the dealer to myself that the vehicle had been sold, shows character in my opinion. While disappointing, I can’t say this is abnormal behaviour for the industry. Always engage an independent inspection before making an offer, and remember you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act when buying from a dealer (unless you are a business customer, in which case the act does not apply). Proceed with caution, and if you are sure you want the vehicle, pressure the dealer to get a written sale agreement signed ASAP so they can’t pull out the moment a better offer comes along.
