I went to this place seeking legal advice, not helpful at all, except to inform me of things that I already knew.My case was against the Fines Department, in August of 2010 I set up a payment schedule to pay off my fines approximately $5,500 at $35 per week and in November 2018 I went to court after paying this amount for over 8 years totalling over $12,000 and was told I still owed approximately $4,500 I was astounded since I had recieved no further fines during that 8 year period.Community Law advised me that I would need to get documented records of all payments made towards my fines from August 2010 up until November 2018 and to get a budget advisor all these things I had already set in motion before going to see Community Law.I appeared in the Hamilton District Court in 2019 with all my documentation showing that I had made payments over that 8 year period totalling over $12,500 towards my Fines and I refused to pay the courts Fines Department any more money,The presiding Judge convicted me of non payment of fines and I was sentenced to 2 months home detention and the remaining balance of my fines which I had proved that I had paid almost 3 times the amount towards my original fine of $5,500 were aquashed,The Legal system in this country is corrupt and the Community Law centre is helping to promote corruption, they don't give a dam about people's basic human rights they use the law to suit themselves and there own personal gains.

This is a retrospective review. Many years ago I was living in Hamilton and was having difficulty with my employer. These guys gave me great advice and confirmed what I already knew, as well as providing some alternative points of view and I was extremely grateful as I was on my own with no support network in Hamilton at that time. They were very empathetic. Well worth a visit. Thanks Team.

I have had epic legal advice years & years ago so will give Community Law a 5 star rating review. But recently called them & the female that answered the phone advised me she would email me some lawyers recommendations regarding me helping a whanau member with their enduring power of attorney but I never got an email. The worker definitely noted my email down correctly as I confirmed it a few times but never got emailed. So that was slack as I will followup on that next week. But maybe due to the pandemic the worker is so busy they didn't do their job properly. But for now I'll still give this a 5 star review & will give an update & edit this review about my recent bad client experience hopefully it's resolved if not I will change this to a 3 star rating. At this stage I would still recommend community law they do good mahi but not highly recommend them.

Excellent Advocate Representative for Ministry of Social Development matter. I was locked out of the process by a closed meeting process. The advocate is given written permission to represent client in all matters of concern. He won, the review of decision & identified MSD procedural errors. Entitlements were put in place and received Arrears.
