I would recommend anyone on vacation in Tauranga to go to the Mount Maunganui Surf School. I had an amazing morning with Andy. He is such a nice guy and knows so much about surfing. He explained to me how the dangerous waves are created and how to recognize them. You could tell that he is an expert. With his help I could stand up in my fist lessen, which is amazing. All in all it was a great experience and I would do it anytime again. Thank you very much

My brother and I, who are complete beginners, had an amazing surf lesson with Tom and could not recommend it enough! By the end of the lesson we were both able to catch waves independently, and Tom made the whole experience so fun. Will be going back again for another lesson to progress further. Thank you so much!

I have to admit, I swallowed heaps of water and my nose is defenetly the cleanest it has ever been but I had an awesome time on the water. The Insructions were clear and easy to understand even for someone who has english as their second language. It was so much fun.Thank you

We got the training from Ben the instructor and he is a really good instructor who is really knowledgeable about surfing and knows the key advices for a newbie. They are very passionate about surfing and not after money. The owner Andy was a very nice person who gave us a good package and explained that the waves are low and might not be good enough beforehand and we can decide to not to continue after the training started. But eventually we had a really good training and we could recommend this place to anyone who look for a good service. Thanks Andy and team.

We had an excellent experience with Tom today. 2 early 40s adults and an 8 year old with minimal surfing experience. We had a great time and we were standing up in no time.We really appreciated how Tom interacted with our son. Great enthusiasm and manor!

Was initially going to sign up for a lesson from another surf school on the beach, but it was a busy day and everyone was fully booked. The owner of mount surf academy was really nice and phoned one of his instructors who was off for the day to see if she could give us a lesson as we were only in town for the day. We got a lesson at a reasonable price, and had a really cool instructor named Charlie. She taught us a lot and made sure we had tons of time to actually be in the water on our own.Could not recommend this company more, thanks again and if we’re ever at the mount again we will be back to hire some boards!

My wife and I did the beginner group surf lesson and had a great time - Victor was a great teacher and had us up and riding waves in no time. Owner Andy was very friendly and honest, and has very reasonable prices for lessons and rentals. We had such a good time we returned the next day to rent boards and wetsuits to do a bit of surfing on our own. Would definitely recommend!

Great, great experience, all around. Ben is great, booking and communication is great. Easy to find, easy to get hold of. The lesson was worth every penny - Ben works with you on your level and will find a technique best suited to you. He is keen to see you enjoy the lesson. Very happy.

Absolutely fabulous guys that run the business. We did the 2hr family lesson and he kept them so engaged and throughly enjoyed every minute. Excellent value for money. Thank you so much. 5 star !!!
