Bird wetlands with boardwalks, viewing hides, wide flat paths for walkers and biking. See rare white spoonbills. Excellent !!

Beautiful little reserve would recommend. You can see a great variety of birds including Spoonbills, Tui, Heron, and Goldfinches among others and also very quiet which is always a bonus.

A few tracks through the reserve. Along these tracks, you can see lots of wildlife, including birds like spoonbills

Fantastic reserve with a lot of work and devotion gone into its maintenance. Great bird life throughout the year.

Excellent bird watching here. Neat hides to watch from. Pleasant walking but likely that the tracks would flood after heavy rain. Tracks are well maintained. Best place to park your car is over the one way bridge just before the cinemas.

Nice flat path along side the waterfront. Sometimes next to the road and other times through the plants. Plenty of birds to see including kingfisher diving before the surface. Depending where you've parked your car it's ready easy to walk for half an hour and then turn back

Pauatahanui Wildlife Reserve
Well maintained and paths well signposted but main entrance not clearly marked and middle hide has too much bush in front to see lake. Birding good.

This wetland has a range of birdlife and several tracks through the wetlands. There is no entry fee and several entrance points to the track network.

Nice place for short walks. Has a few hides, which are best for observing birds.Went back again in September, this time saw NZ Kingfishers and Takahe.
