Toby has worked for us for several years on our rentals and on our own home (a 100 year old plus villa) he is easy to deal with and is efficient. The one word that comes to mind when describing Toby's work is quality" really top drawer stuff

Toby did a great job on our walk in shower and bathroom at Arthurs Pass. The work involved moving a wall and shaping the floor for the walk in shower. The design and consenting all went smoothly and building didn't take long. Toby arranged all the different trades and it all went well. We are very happy with the final outcome and we are enjoying the underfloor heating.

He also expects high standards of the tradies who undertake his work. Toby was very considerate of any health issues we had during the build. Definitely pleased with the outcome, our new bathroom meets all our expectations.

I can't praise Toby and his team highly enough. He sorted out a complete strip-out and fresh install in our bathroom, and the results are excellent. Great communication the whole way through. I loved Toby's style of communication and how detailed he was before and during the job. It made it very easy for us to discuss the inevitable unusual things that came up during the bathroom renovation. He is careful and accurate and the team of tradespeople around him were all skilled and easy to chat to. Being a long-time waste minimisation person, I separated all the waste produced, recycled or on sold what I could, and dumped the rest, and Toby was happy to support me doing that. I thoroughly enjoy using my new 1.9m by 1.9m bathroom and would hire Toby in a flash for any further renovations.

I recently engaged Toby to install a shower unit. Time was tight on this as it was pre-surgery so no room for 'slippage' on the build period. The job started and finished when Toby said it would and I am very pleased with the quality of his work and would recommend Appleton Builders to anyone looking to have similar work done.

We used Appleton Builders to redo an outdated ensuite in an original character home in Halswell. I received three quotes, and while their quote wasn't the cheapest one I received, I accepted the quote based on how personable, trustworthy and flexible Toby Appleton was. He LISTENED to what I wanted for the space - and I say this as a female who has experienced 'manplaining' by tradies before :)The project had two unforeseen hurdles (rotting wood where the old bathtub was and defected flooring that arrived straight to the house from a supplier I selected), and Toby took charge and proactively found solutions to ensure the smooth running of the project. I love the great communication throughout the process (think initial formal schedule, with weekly updates) - this gave me a real sense of confidence. I cannot recommend Appleton Builders enough.Best of all, we ended up slightly underbudget - always a nice surprise!
