Best Bunnings store I’ve been to in Nz. Easy to phone and talk to with customer service provided by humans with initiative & knowledge (not mindless zombies). Margaret the manager I dealt with is extremely helpful. The experience is like the good ole’ days from your local mom and pop hardware store & not faceless Australian profit centre.

This store is amazing its huge and has a wide range of items. Sometimes in Taupo they are not as well stocked, such as The Warehouse or Pak n Save you end up ordering online. This store is well worth the visit and you will enjoy your options.

Have had many dealings with the Taupo branch. I would give 4.5 stars for staff. ( perhaps 1-2 don't seem to want to be there) but most are excellent. Only 2.5 stars for range of stock which is often disappointing. Yes I realize they only have so much room and it's a small store but items missing are often small and would be expected as a basic coommon line of stock. Although they will get it in it can take upto 2 weeks, Maybe a Mega Bunnings Taupo would be good. It would be hard to beat the Whakatane branch in stock lines.

Worst bunnings ever been to, bought a plywood sheet, the guy said I could make how many cut I wanted, I asked 3 cuts, he made 2 cause they use a hand saw and he look exhausted. The cuts where terrible.

Do yourself a favour and go straight to Mitre 10. The “Click and Collect” process at Bunnings Taupo would be an excellent example on how NOT to do this. Do give them the benefit of the doubt however as it’s worth seeing this process fall flat again and again. “All care no responsibility” sums up my experience with them pretty well. The staff are disinterested in anything other than operating the tills, product knowledge is laughable and not in a good way. Mitre 10 is a much better bet.
