We had two great burgers. One beef and one chicken. Both with a unique spin thanks to the toppings. The service was the best and our orders were delivered quickly. A bit out from the main part of town but a pleasant walk along the lakeside track.

Great views, fantastic atmosphere and reasonable prices. Most of the staff bar one young waitress were lovely. Will definitely be back. Loved all our meals and the kids meals particularly were well worth the money.

A good little place to sit down and enjoy a beer with a good view. The food came out super quick and was tasty. I felt it needed more salt, but that is completely down to the individual. I would come back again.

I went to this place as I booked a table for two on 16 April 2023 as a treat for me as a late birthday surprise from my partner. The service for our drinks were served fast and the waiters kept changing after the drinks arrived.The atmosphere was good yet it started to get busy after hour arrival.The service was good during the drink service. We booked for 6pm, after drinks were served, we were waiting for a good hour for our dinner that we ordered and during the time of our wait, we were being kept with the waiting, the waiters kept checking on us and that end of the night, we didn't end up having our dinner in the pub. So, we decided to leave after the hour and paying for our drinks as we asked them what was the reason for meal being late and that we got told two different reasons as the young man waiter forgot to place the order through after having his notepad with the order and then the other one said that he was going to check on the hold up before we left after our pay for drinks.

If you are looking for hearty pub food, a stunning location and great value, this place gets one of the three spot on. The location is awesome.It used to be a top bar, I have been every year for about 9 years. Something bad has happened based on tonight's experience. The sign said full menu available. There was indeed a full menu. But hardly any of it was available - including the only vegetarian dish. Four different options before discovering one that hadn't run out. And we're talking 6:30 pm.Most of our party had eaten by the time the final dishes appeared. As it seems that they forgot two dishes.The fish in the the once great fish and chips appeared to have already eaten half of the chips without putting on a gram in weight- it was a pathetic child sized portion. A $25 child portion. Totally ridiculous.Next the porterhouse steak. About $45 and composed of a lot of gristle. Mushroom sauce was nice though.We had a child in the party who ordered sausage and mash from the kid's menu. An adult ordered the same from the main menu. The difference was about half a sausage and $12. Three of us had it (not as first choice) and it was extremely bland with tasteless sausages.The beef burger looked pretty good, but the Chicken burger was really poor, almost vegetarian with a tiny amount of chicken and just a nod to red onion.When I mentioned to the maitre d' (that is how she was referred to) that we were very disappointed with the lack of availability, the wait for food, the poor value - in particular of the $25 fish and chips, she just agreed and said she'd pass it on.This gets one star because the beer collection is awesome.This has been an annual stop for years now, but sorry Jolly Average fellows, we won't be back.

Lovely spot for lunch or a drink with views over the lake. Service was friendly and efficient, food was hot and tasty. One of our favorite spots in Taupo.

Great service but pretty disappointed with the food. Main course overcooked and dessert undercooked. Restaurant not busy so getting the basics right should be easy.The waitress was friendly and professional. sadly, her more senior colleague didn't advise us of our enquiry for the dessert delay.hopefully better next time.
