We wanted to do our WOF there. They told us that we have a leak and we have to change the hole steering rack from our car for a lot of money.We double check the car in another garage and they told us they can fix it with a special liquid.If you want to safe money, look for another garage.

Very good auto technicians in this place helpful & friendly staff ,also they take pride in their work can do registration &road user charges here too.

Eastern Bay Motors was recommended to us when we moved to Opotiki and from my experience Kata and Csaba have always gone out of their way to offer great service with our vehicles, going above and beyond when we had a particularly difficult electronic problem and being very accomodating when a courtesy vehicle etc is needed. Highly recommend.

Love the customer service, this mechanic is always my go to (chubba and team!) Wouldn't go anywhere else, friendly, and very resourceful! Always goes way and beyond for there customers and that's what I love!!

several occasions where I have had vehicle issues.Each time these guys have come up trumps.Once parts needed ( distance from main centres poses problems) and a couple of times where mechanical issues required attention. Each time the team at Eastern Bay Motors solved things and at very reasonable prices comparatively

Dangerous!So so disappointing! Went there with a 2002 Golf wagon to get a WOF, was told that I couldn‘t drive anymore until the brakes are done, he said they are dangerous! Fair enough, two days later I got a call asking for the size of my tyres although the car was in their workshop!? Had to call in a couple of times after that and ask when I can pick it up, got then told that they got the wrong parts delivered and I had to wait till the next week. Had to call again as I got no information about when I could pick it up. Finally got it back after a week.Went on a roadtrip with two of my friends then the brakes started to make a grinding noise. I send him a message that there was something wrong and he told me to bring it in again. His wife received me with the words ‚ah maybe it‘s the brakes now‘ , where I thought, that‘s weird, that‘s exactly the reason why he kept my car the last time!?After the work was done I asked how it is possible that I got my car back with the same ‚dangerous‘ brakes? I was told that yes it is dangerous but everything that was part of the WOF had been done, this was not part of the WOF! Strange, how can I get a WOF when my brakes are dangerous? I had to pay again although my first invoice already stated that the brakes where done (also with a totally different price than the first time). Chaba was not there at that time so I sent him a message that I was really disappointed about all of this, especially because I carry people with me every day. His argumentation was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. He said it was my own fault and he can‘t repair everything at once because people can‘t afford it, they come with ‚end of live cars’ and expect it to be cheap. And in the next sentence he said costwise it wouldn’t have made a difference if he did it then or now. Huh? I got a quote upfront so I knew exactly what I had to pay. I told him that I wasn’t a poor traveler and certainly didn’t come with an end of life car! Also my car was twice unlocked outside on the street, when I told him that I wasn‘t happy about it he told me that he always loved that he didn‘t have to lock his car in NZ. This car is someone elses property so you can‘t expect that it‘s ok to leave it unlocked!I told him that I would leave a review on google so others would be warned, I want everyone to be safe in their cars, especially when you think about families, there‘s no excuse for something like that, every life is precious! Suddenly he said quote: ,I tried to ring. I will look into it tomorrow and see what went wrong. I now remember driving it with you. I can come down and look at the job today too if you wish.‘Ridiculous, he never deove with me and he knew that I would leave town the next day and there was nothing to look into as he already said he‘s not sorry for anything and there was no mistake on his side.I still have the texts if anyone needs evidence.Stay save people and don’t be afraid to speak up, even if you‘re a woman or speak another language you have the right to be treated well when you go to a mechanic!

Been using them for my car yard WOF's over the last few months, we are new to Opotiki. They have done many dozen for me and I have been very impressed with their service and workmanship. We have also had several mechanical repairs done, again I am very happy with the quaility of their work and the time it has taken. I am an X qualified motor mechanic and have been selling cars for the last 20 years.
