This is such a lovely place to meet some amazing cats. You can tell when you walk in the door that the cats are very loved and well taken care of here. I have been to a lot of animal shelters, and this place tops them all. I would recommend it to anyone looking to adopt, or even popping in to play with and pet the fuzzy residents.

We have fostered one cat and now adopted one from Cat Protection. It's so amazing to see how much they care for each cat from the time it arrives to even after it's been in your home for awhile. They take great care with making sure their cats go to the right homes. Will always support CPL in their amazing work.

Cat Protection are wonderful. I had no intention of replacing my Merlin but Elizabeth is the bees knees. She's a medical foster and is very loved. It's fantastic that cats with medical conditions get a chance to carry on and give joy to new carers

My partner and I volunteered at CPW for about half a year. It is a unique place only loving and caring for cats, whether stray or abandoned. People who work there are super nice and generous. Everyone works so hard to keep the place clean and well-organized. The cats living there get good treatment. There are rooms for newbies, shy ones, cats who need special attention. During the weekends, people can visit the shelter and look for a cat to adopt. Our memories there are so precious that we will cherish in our hearts forever.

They exist for a good cause. Warning for those applying for desex subsidy though that you should be prepared to be judged (being questioned is ok but being judged as someone taking advantage when you never do it or aren’t that kind of person is not good). It would have been as easy as rejecting an application and providing a brief reason if I don’t meet the criteria but the lady who rang me questioned, judged, and even lectured me about owning a cat as a commitment (which I know fully well) like talking to a young person who is owning a pet for the first time. I never asked for a subsidy for all my cat’s needs so her lecturing wasn’t necessary at all. The organisation could have handled the interaction in a positive and kinder manner.

Wow as former cat owners, what an emotional thing to go through ie having to rehome your cat you've had for 10 years. CPL are so understanding and made our loss easier. Just a small ask that more people need to donate money and other resources to CPL as they're putting all the hard work in to rehome your pet.

volunteer 1 day a week here while I am New Zealand for 6 months, the premises are big and they take really great care of the cats. The cats all have their own personality . A great place if you are looking to foster a cat highly recommended.
