Otago Golf Club

We had the fortunate opportunity to visit this incredible, historic golf course on our trip to Dunedin. We were politely met by Shelley, the Director of Golf, who gave us a friendly history about the golf course including the fact that it is the oldest golf club in the Southern Hemisphere and it is thanks to this club that golf was introduced to NZ! Shelley also gave us a handy run down of the course layout and direction, which certainly came in handy when playing. The course itself was in great condition and the fairways were like playing on carpet. The staff were welcoming and the players around the course were friendly and respectful. Would highly recommend popping in to this course if you have the time. Thank you so much to the club’s generous donation of green fees and a cart to support CureKids and Putting with Purpose. Excellent track - interesting, hilly layout in great condition. Oldest course in the southern hemisphere that just celebrated it's 150th anniversary. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Beautiful course and so close to city centre. Great pro shop and people are welcoming. Hole 10 is majestic signature hole. Please make it a cart friendly course so that everyone can enjoy it. Not only the mountain climbers haha. Thank you!

Hubby and friends played here. Gorgeous course. Oldest golf course in the Southern Hemisphere. Staff very, very friendly and nice. Made you feel like a member. (Seems like everyone we met in New Zealand were super nice.) Members are also very friendly. Check it out if you're a golfer and visiting Dunedin.

Beautifully designed and kept course with friendly staff

Very nice and traditional Golf Course. An extraordinary nice Lady in the Pro shop gave me some introduction and we had a lovely chat. I found the course itself is well integrated to the terrain and has some very nice holes. It's varied and has beautiful old trees. A small downside is the street in the middle of the course, probably owed to the age of the course as the city grew around it.

Great course. Hilly & challenging, but some great holes & loads of history. Nice service in pro shop and in the bar too.

Professionally run and relaxed. Course physically challenging for my husband in his early 60's. Hiring a golf cart was essential.

The course is in fabulous condition and the greens superb...way too good for moi!! Bunkers are the major downer, bad sand on a hard base. Club rooms have an extensive and great beer selection.
