Event Cinemas Westcity

Really Poor I mean I can understand if the cienma has a power cut and we couldnt see the rest of the movie which annoyed me but what i cant understand is why instead of giving my money back they give me two gift cards for a later date?

Plenty of parking (covered parking included). Decent pricing as well but admittedly I think the decent pricing is something to do with the rather rundown condition of this place. It is surprisedly clean though. They did renovate the Westgate Event cinemas and I hope they look at doing the same for the Westcity cinemas.

Good sound good picture and all. However the seats are old hard and are uncomfortable. The carpet is in terrible stained condition. I haven't been to these cinemas in years and thought by now they should've upgraded but unfortunately no. I would possibly still go to these cinemas from time but New Lynn and in the city are way better.

Good to have a convenient cinema in central West Auckland with plenty of car parking. Great day out for school holidays and Event play the advertised movies that kids want to see. Movie prices are fine but food and beverages can be pricey if you have a few kids tagging along.

I visited this complex yesterday for John Wick Chapter 4 and was pleasantly surprised. I am not a local in the area but saw it with a friend who does live nearby.I was happy with the prices, which were $14 for an adult ticket if you are with Cinebuzz which is a bargain, as most other cinemas charge over $20 to see a movie.The theatre we were in (cinema 4) was quite large and so was the screen. The sound system quality was nice too. I was also surprised that this place was not crowded at all, which I honestly loved.The only downside is that the place does look really old and dated, including the walls, carpet and seats. However, I will not complain too much because they are cheap for starters, and places like HOYTS Sylvia Park is just purely disgusting. The condition of that complex consists of old broken seats, cup holders and stains everywhere while still charging the normal prices. Event Westcity at least was very clean and I was more than happy!I will definitely return in the future mainly for the prices, but also for the large cinemas and cleanliness.

Staff don't seem interested in helping rectify any issues you may have - there were other people sitting in my seat and I wasn't too comfortable asking the group to move, I waited 10 minutes to be seen by staff to ask if I could have my seats moved to the front (where there were no people sitting) but was told to just ask them to move or one of the staff could come and ask them to move (the lines were long and I could tell they didn't want to leave the counter). I didn't see the issue in just having my seats moved to the front.Apart from that, prices are cheaper than other cinemas but I would prefer to pay extra for a better experience.

Nice and clean, efficient service and an overall great experience. Sofa chairs there are very nice and the cinema was very clean aswell. 10/10

Hope there were signs no feet on chairs. A mother and her son sitting behind ( row J seat 8 Nd 9) IDIOTS kept putting feet on top of my chair backrest. Was really gross . I looked at them few times but absolutely no manners. Hope staff can put some signs so this can stop and we enjoy what we paid for.

Enjoyed the movie but it was freezing in cinema 7. Someone had turned the air conditioning on to max. It was like trying to watch a movie in a beer fridge at a liquor store. My partner complained and the guy at the counter said he would log a job" whatever that means. Once we stepped out of the cinema it was a relief to feel warm again."
