Visiting Christchurch for the week, on our first night we were brought to Burgers & Beers Inc to meet up with friends for a casual bite.One can say the burgers were excellent value for money, the place didn’t have any air of pretentiousness other than being a quirky, straightforward diner with a few craft beers thrown in the mix. It genuinely felt like an American-style diner, with a fun hammer-horror twist. It captured the US burger-bar feel perfectly, right down to the help-yourself filter coffee. The burgers themselves were big, but a bit sloppy in the construction.I was on a special diet and had to commend them on how easily they adapted the menu to create something suitable, in my case a fish salad. It had great flavor, especially the wasabi mayo. Tom was a great server, very amicable and he remembered who had which burger when delivering to the table.I understand Burgers & Beers is a few years old now; it has that feel, the fixtures and furniture showing the age a bit and could use some upkeep.On balance great fare for students and real casual dining, but for my companion the burger experience was a bit lacking compared to other eateries in the same genre.

Daughter and I decided to go here and order flaming Flamingo burgers thinking they were spicy, also ordered onion rings, the burgers where horrible not spicy just the beans didn't seem to go well in a burger. onion rings are very tasty. Atmosphere was good with a good outdoor area to down your burger and drink.

Nice vegetarian (crumbled Camembert) and vegan (mushrooms and hummus) with good quality buns (and plenty of quality veges) burgers of decent size to fill one hungry punter.Good beer and even pint glasses with handles! Highly recommended!

I'd go for the gravy and chips alone.The burgers are well made and have top notch ingredients, beer and drink options are great.Location means your only 5 mind away from chch central.Absolute quality burgers, better than the rest

Had their weekday lunch special of mini burger, fries and can of drink for 13.90. Sat in the courtyard out the back in the sun, read my book and ate my lunch. Perfect. Good size for a lunch meal.

The chips are very crunchy, the outside of the chip was like an oil shell. No flavor to them at all just salt. You do how ever get quite a large box for $5.90 chips and gravy. which is decent if you enjoy them. staff were polite and welcoming. nice outside area around back.

Burger was amazing, squid was super yum - as per however they still ha ent fixed the super over battered onion rings =/ real shame as I loooove onion rings but ended up with what's in the attached photo. Staff upon pickup were super friendly.

My partner and I were just passing by, we thought the decoration and simplicity of the place was very attractive. We shared a big size burger with some sides and we got pretty full. They cut it in halves for us to share, presentation was amazing and the flavor was powerful. Definitely we would like to give other stuff in the menu a go.

The store is quite spacious but was completely empty. There seemed to be one person in the kitchen and one person on the til. He was rather nice and professional. We spent about $30-$40 per person for a burger, chips and gravy, and a drink. In all fairness, the portions were quite large, so the price makes sense. I would prefer smaller portions for a lesser price as I didn’t end up finishing the burger or the chips. We each got a milkshake, which were extremely disappointing. Basically just milk with a splash of syrup. The chips and gravy were quite good but I couldn’t finish them. I got the most basic beef burger, I think it was called Pulp Fiction, and it was okay. It was quite big and it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good enough to make me want to go back, especially considering the prices.
