In Disguise Costume Hire

Our initial meeting, & organizing of costumes was great. Paid out the best part of $400, then when it came time for our event. We came down with Covid, we phoned back to say we couldn't attend due to being in isolation.AJ said to my wife, sorry no refund or exchange for another date. He said they've had 5 or 6 groups that he hadn't refunded or given another opportunity.Not sure about the communication between AJ & Christie either, as I was texted early, asking to bring the costumes back. It had only been a couple of days, since we picked them up & we hadn't even got to the event yet.This grated on me as, I wasn't going to say anything about one of the bags we were given. We were given various reusable bags, & one of the bags had mould in it, so I believe they had been sitting in the bags for some time. This was confirmed by AJ, when I returned.Our event (CluedUpp) didn't refund us, but they gave us a voucher to use at a later date, 1 year expiry. It would've been nice if AJcould have done the same. I tried talking to them again, & he offered us a discount to $50 a piece. A $9 dollar discount!After looking into what it costs to buy brand new. It's much safer, & cheaper. Look sharp, & Pete's Emporium have a great selection. Cleaner, as most of thier stock is second hand, and kept in thier clustered basement. Very dusty.Afterbrand new. It's cheaper. Got my costume for Armageddon here this week. Great experience. Huge range of costumes and accessories. A.J. was brilliant, so helpful. Really knows his stuff. Recommend this place 100%

In disguise were amazing!! They had the perfect costumes all picked out for us in the right sizes. Which was wonderful in the time we had. They definitely went the extra mile and made out experience very easy and our stay in Wellington wonderful.

Love this place, love that it’s local and very thankful for their helpfulness especially at short notice as I always leave my costume to the last minute. Did everything online and was so quick and easy as they had everything pulled out to try on. The only hard part is choosing,Thanks so much you are an awesome team

The costumes were awesome! We had such a great experience picking out our costumes before our party. There were so many different options and they were super accommodating. The costumes were amazing quality and looked awesome. Thank you again!! Highly recommend.

AJ is a legend.. has an amazing array of costumes..so knowledgeable and great to deal with....

AJ is brilliant - he gets right into the theme and has a lot of fun with you. When we booked we told him the theme and our sizes so when we arrived he had costumes out for us. I changed my mind the week following and AJ was more than happy to let me do that. Helpful to the end. He also ended up providing costumes for three others coming to our party and they also commented how good he was. Great to support local as well.
