Bastardised take of Malaysian street food, mellowed to cater to western palate. Eg: sambal wasn't even spicy. (source: I'm a Malaysian myself). On a positive note, the staff are helpful and friendly, and you get a good view of Auckland harbour & ferry terminal.

I love that the meat is all free range- there are no other Malaysian restaurants (aside from Madam Woo) that offer this. However, the food was quite dry and had too much sugar/not enough chilli. The chicken roti definitely needed to have some curry sauce rather than just dry chicken. The roti wrap itself was authentic and crispy which was good. There was no laksa when we went which may have helped to balance out the dryness of the other items we ordered, however, it would be good if you didn't have to rely on this. A generous 3 stars. Would love if these comments are taken on board!

My 12 year old son loves dumplings and he thinks the prawn dumplings at Hawker and Roll are the best in town. I love the Malaysian slaw with duck, divine! We both enjoy the gorgeous Harbour views and doing our bit for the environment by eating and drinking from Hawker and Rolls reusable tableware.

Really annoyed as I’m 27 weeks pregnant and drove all the way from here for hawker and roll to find out it’s been shut down ! Yet here online it says open! False advertisement.

We ordered 1 of the combos to share for a light lunch. We went with the Malaysian chicken with coconut rice and spicy pork dumplings which was delicious. Great service too.

Always great tasting, which (in my opinion as a chef) justifies the pricing. The duck with hoisin sauce on roti canai is my personal go to! I can never get enough of roti canai!! The delicious Passionfruit soda washed it down perfectly. Also, today is my birthday and as I've previously registered my details, was given $10 off my purchase!! The wonderful staff even sent out a lil Portuguese custard tart!! Thanks H&R Commercial Bay!!
