Wild Forest Estate

Really good place, good host !

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the estate. We had an entire house to ourselves and it was so nice to wake up early with the sun and make a morning coffee. Perfect for a weekend away from it all. Bring food with you as it's a 40 minute drive to the closest Countdown

A little oasis off the grid...We enjoyed staying here a lot. Jane (the host) is wonderful and a helping guide when it comes to kiwi-spotting in the night.The place is is beautifully decorated with lots of details and natural materials. Great!It’s a mix of an old farmhouse with modern elements.We had the entire apartment for ourselves and could even use the fully equipped kitchen which was great.150$ a night isn’t cheap but I’d love to come back!The WiFi is pretty weak though, and the cats make lots of noise during nighttime what’s a little bummer.

I stayed at the Wild Forest Estate this past March. The hosts Joanna and Nigel put their heart and soul into making it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I stayed in the Lotus Belle, which is a yurt, a little removed from the main house. It was super comfortable and I really loved the peace and quiet of it all, not to mention starting each morning with a hot bath in the trees! If you want to totally detox from social media and the news, this is the perfect spot, but I have to confess that I was able to get cell service (Spark) from the Lotus Belle, so don't panicI stayed two nights and wish I could have stayed much longer.The location is great for day trips to see Tane Mahuta and the Hokianga Harbour and sand dunes, and closer to home, just a km or two from the Wild Forest Estate is the Trounson Kauri Park which offers an easy walk through native bush, including some amazing giant kauri trees.

What a gorgeous place to relax and unwind. I stayed in the cottage which was comfy and warm. Really great bed, linen sheets, The sound of the stream running beside the cottage was soothing. I loved watching the ducks come for their meal 3 times a day. Joanna and Nigel were fantastic hosts. The photo is my new friend Helga the goat.

Loved our stay at the estate. A true glamping experience that walks the thin line between rustic and luxury.. from bunnies around the tent to the bath in the middle of the forest.. will go back again for more. Highly recommended!
