Interesting especially after doing the Rimutaka Rail Cycle Trail. Good knowledge from staff and interesting displays. A worthy visit and look into New Zealand's heritage past.

The Fell Locomotive Museum is a great display of Victorian mechanical engineering as well as the social history of the Rimatuka Incline Railway from 1878 until 1955.It has 2 restored exhibits of both a Fell Engine and a Fell brake van that actually worked the real railway line.There are scale models of both Summit and Cross Creek Station.A number of films offer an insight to a way of life, now long gone.Well worth the admission

Featherston Heritage Museum Complex
An excellent museum with well-researched and informative exhibits on Featherston Camp and other aspects of Wairarapa history. My only complaint is that it has limited opening hours, due to relying on volunteers.
