Scargill Motunau Reserve
It was dangerous because it had been raining and the mud was making it difficult to get onto the land where we're allowed to camp. There were about 6 people that could camp there. It's $10 per person per night for the facilities and it an amazing place to stay. There is a warm water shower with flushing toilets, that have comfortable wooden seats around the bathroom area.Just a warning with the entrance follow the Scargill domain sign. That will get you to the camp. When I went there the first time I completely missed the entrance.If you're in the area I do recommend the campsite!!

Nice domain I a good setting. The camping areas are basically grassy carparks and a little walk to the facilities.

Brilliant little reserve an hour from Christchurch. Has squash courts, tennis courts, cricket area and a newly renovated building with toilets cooking facilities etc

We only stopped to use the showers and put donation in the box before we left.Then a weird old man takes photos of our van when we drive off??

Freedom camping for 6 self contained vehicles (arrive early!). Shower. Toilet. You can stay 2 nights. There is a 30 minutes nice trail with great view of the surrounding mountains. There is a box for donations.
