Tempero
Nice food. We’ve ordered some delicious dishes - for starters we had, cheese breads (pao de queijo), pork crackling (a favourite among us!) and the cassava chips. For mains we shared the Acaraje, Moqueca and the Picanha meat - cooked to perfection! Will def recommend Tempero and looking forward to coming back! Thanks for having us tonight!

What a great experience at Tempero! My husband and I flew over from Australia for the opening of this new k’road gem and did not leave disappointed. The Latin menu was full of flavour and perfectly executed, with seafood moqueca, marinated mussels, beans, rice and that amazing Brazilian cheese bread. If you have a sweet tooth the passion fruit mousse was to die for.Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend.

Tempero is a new arrival on K'road, taking over the space that used to host Peach Pit.I came on Saturday night with a large group of pals and were welcomed by the friendly host and seated swiftly. Despite it being our first visit, we instantly settled in. The decor is modern with a pop of personality in the colour palette. Seating was comfortable and, most importantly, the acoustics are solid (even with an open kitchen) - there is simply nothing worse than not being able to hear conversation.First impressions started to form based on the drinks list, which featured an outstanding array of non alcoholic options (important given it's dry July). For those wanting a tipple there were all the classic cocktails and some unfamiliar offerings, plus a wide selection of natural wines from local and international producers. We opted for a bottle of the 'disco' pet nat to start - the light fizz and funked up strawberry notes got the good vibes flowing! Then came the food menu. We started in safe territory with some guacamole, cassava chips, and cheese bread. Ditch the diet and eat the bread. It's worth it, I promise. With initial hunger satisfied we ventured into uncharted territory, the authentic Latin dishes...I cannot think of another establishment in Auckland, let alone New Zealand, where you would find some of these unique Latin dishes. The unexpected highlight was the soul food style Brazilian baked beans that transformed with a banana 'farofa' sprinkle. I had no clue what farofa was beforehand, but now I want this crumbly topping to be added to all future emails! The crowd pleaser was the fish stew called 'moqueca'. It was a bowl of flavour, morsels of flaky white fish, and big juicy prawns. Paired with rice, this dish felt reminiscent of a Thai curry. We were incredibly full at this point but couldn't stop ourselves from ordering dessert. The passionfruit mousse cleansed the palate but didn't leave us feeling heavy.By the end of the night, I'd almost forgotten about my beloved Peach Pit. I'm thrilled to have Tempero on the strip and will certainly be returning to continue my Latin food adventures!
