I recently visited Bar 85 with high hopes of enjoying a good night and engaging conversations.Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling disheartened and concerned about the presence of racial discrimination within the establishment.From the moment I walked in, I couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that I was being treated differently because of my race.The owner seemed disinterested and distant, lacking the warmth and hospitality I have come to expect in a bar setting.Moreover, I noticed a stark contrast in their behavior towards Indian patrons compared to non-Indian visitors, particularly those who appeared to be of white ethnicity like myself.On several occasions, I witnessed instances where Indian patrons were greeted with enthusiasm, while non-Indian customers were given minimal attention and seemed to be an afterthought.This blatant discrepancy in treatment was difficult to ignore and created an uncomfortable environment for those who were not part of the Indian community.As a firm believer in equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their race or background, I cannot overlook the concerning incidents of racial discrimination that occurred during my visit.Discrimination in any form is unacceptable and has no place in a modern society.It is my sincere hope that the management of Bar85 takes immediate action to address these concerns, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons.I recommend potential visitors to be aware of these issues and to consider their values and comfort level before deciding to visit Bar 85.

The best bar to enjoy in Christchurch, tbh best in ( customer service , music and each and everything ) . Would definitely recommend to anyone who wanna enjoy in Christchurch. Open 7 days that’s the best part and weekends is just magical over here . ✨⭐️

Bar staff are unprofessional and are extremely racist. When a customer who isn’t Indian is not happy with something, they will refuse to serve them. All because they got defensive for nothing

Great place to hang out. As a woman I always feel safe here and are able to enjoy the drinks in company of the wondersul hosts and other guests.

Frankly, the best shisha I ever had. Smooth and nice. The place is nice too. The owner is warm and welcoming.Excelent service.Definitly a place that I advice to visit and enjoy
