DON'T STAY here. We witnessed a domestic abuse situation directly outside our cabinet on the night we stayed - we tried to phone management for assistance - but were put through to an answer phone and ended up phoning the police. We are still waiting to hear back from 'management'. It was horrific to witness and we were trapped in our cabin.

Customer service was straight forward, i really liked the late check in. Beds were comfy, but the cabin door would not lock with the key. Really dim outside lights so had to watch my step going down, i get that it could be annoying to other guests but improve on that incase of an accident. Wifi was useless!!Would not stay again, sorry.

Horrific experience. Booked two cabins was only given key for one cabin was filthy as were toilet amnenities drunks all through a cabin and outside abusing my children and was followed by a half naked older man all through the camp ground. When brought this to the staffs attention and asked to cancel she refused to refund and showed no empathy that I had been followed to the toilet by this man and no longer wanted to stay also as my uncle had been murdered in Hamilton a few months prior when this was brought to her attention she just said oh well that’s tough get over it and refused toAlter anything also did not disclose its emergency accomodation and there were constant arguments in the half hour we were there. Facilities were also disgusting. Have spoken with the booking agency who were also not aware of this and will be investigating do not bring children here it is not a safe environment

I had seen some negative reviews about this Park. But still gave it a shot on our last night in NZ north. Nice place. The lady at the reception is good at her job. Nice and clean facilities. Keep up the good work

Very disappointed with this establishment. Stayed with the sports team but after checking out, was informed by a call that a large blanket was missing from the room. They make us pay for something we did not take. We were travelling in a small van and there is no way any of my boys would have taken it as it would be too obvious as all of them has small bags. There is no inventory that we need to check when we check in and when we check out, we were told that a blanket is missing. Very dodgy dealings as anyone who has a key to the house when we check out could have taken it. Have already informed all the other sports teams from our school and other affiliated schools not to use them in the future. Not happy at all. First and last time that we will ever stay at Hamilton City Holiday Park.

I had an unpowered site for 9 days and found it to be a great place to stay. The staff are extremely helpful. It's local to the University, and Countdown is in the next street. Best of all, it's a pet-friendly camp. The TV room and the kitchen are small but they are functional and spotless. The ablutions block is a little dated but very clean and the showers are heavenly. I noticed that the shower curtains were changed during my stay. There isn't a disabled shower or toilet, so may I suggest installing a bar to help those with poor balance? Powerpoints were in high demand but there is an additional power extension box under the gas cooker. Overall, I loved the place and hope to be back in the future.

Non powered campsite was 47$. As we were stuck for somewhere to stay we booked really late - the lady on the phone was great in getting our booking sorted and giving us the late arrival information, and let us bring our dog in as it was just for the night. The only thing I will say is we were put on the back grass the was awfully close to the surrounding properties. The grass has been cut not long before with no catcher, so there were grass clippings everywhere throughout the car. The toilets and single shower were very run down, it was like what you would expect at a swimming pool. Bugs, mould and wet floors, no towels mats or anything to clean up with, was very difficult to get dressed in. Probably wouldn’t stay again unless I had no other option.

The cabin we stayed in was older but was clean. It was perfect for a short stay, wasnt lost of things for kids to do and the playground was average. Location was good but lots of noise at night. If you are looking for somewhere affordable, clean with great service then I would 100% recommend this park.

Positive: Polite Staff, amenities clean.Negative: Next door is emergency housing, the whole night was filled with domestic violence, babies & children being screamed at and hit. Police arrived at 2am & 4am. As a single woman with 1 child, we were scared, and couldn't sleep.Within the camp, a gang member (patched and facial tattoos) wearing home detention bracelet on ankle, making me feel more unsafe, and vulnerable, Then Youth ( from emergency housing next door) coming into camp, tried to step my 8 yr old out for his $100 shoes while he was on campground swing.Same youth attempting to steal camp golf cart. Playground suitable to under 6yrs, very babyish. TV lounge a disgraceful joke. No game was complete, small old box TV, nothing to watch. $50 for a unpowered site was more expensive than any park we have stayed in ever. Worse experience of my life. Don't book here.
