Only problem here is that the wind is too big for fishing. But if you can stand the wind then it would be a good place for fishers.

Currently closed for maintenance.... I had the chance to have a walk here before closing, early 2021. Didn't feel particularly unsafe, just it's silly it takes so long to fix. You wonder why they still haven't done a tunnel to Wainui, and they take over 2 years to fix a small wharf...

Good place to go fishing or get a wonderful view of Wellington or go explore the beach or go swimming or go have a picnic at the petone wharf there's lots to do if you haven't been there yet Petone Wharf a good place to go on a nice sunny day with a decent option of things to do

Beautiful scenery and would be a great place to go fishing but seems to be closed for long.

This wharf is a popular hot spot and pleasure point for those who take their R & R seriously, be it fishing, diving, pier-jumping, swimming, napping, dog-walking, sunbathing or just hanging around to watch everyone else. It also used to be one of the terminals for the East by West ferries until it was damaged in the last earthquake. It remains an iconic feature of the local landscape and imparts photogenic beauty and interest to the Petone foreshore in addition to its recreational uses.
