I should have read the reviews before buying cakes. I used to buy this black forest cake for every birthday of my children about six years ago since their birth to 10 years old. My boy is 16 years old today. We tried it again, the quality of this cake has seriously declined. The cream on both the top and interlayer is too thin and not fresh, it tastes like it has been stored for 2/3 days, and the cake base/ sponge is also very dry. I even suspect that they didn’t brushed rum flavored sugar water for sponge at all, which is the spirit of Black Forest cake. Even the cherries in the interlayer have been replaced with red jellylike cherries(same as top one ), which has the strong bitter almond flavor, it is so strong, even covered all the goodness of cream and chocolate’s flavors!Unbearable!! It used to be real dark sugar cherry inside the interlayer cream. I know these days every material price is increasing, you can raise the cake price, but lowering the quality is really unbearable! Don't tell me you adjusted the recipe as an excuse, it doesn't match the brand of your cake.Very disappointing!!!The only star I gave is for the new renovation and checkout staff.

Absolutely amazing cakes. I bought the mousse cake with spay on so delicious it melts in your mouth. Highly recommended

The service was really poor. The older Asian lady staff with short hair was quite rude！I should read the google reviews before I made online order to Mt Eden branch. She made a mistake for scratching the cake in front of me and forcing me to buy it. She said she can still sell it to others if I don’t buy it. I bought two birthday cakes and some decorations. But she blamed me waste too much time. The actual reason is she is not professional, when customers come together, she cannot handle it. She gave other’s customers cake to me, also scratched the cake. She doesn’t think she has any problems, the attitude was really rude! Worst service ever！I will never come to Mt Eden branch again!

I used to order every occasion the cookies and cream cake but then yesterday we noticed the cake full of cream pretty much whole layer is just cream,very disappointed☹️

Well textured and full of flavour. Ordered 1 day in advance through the phone for the birthday cake, picked up the next day morning. The cake is well made, our number one choice for birthday cakes.

Used to be our go to place! But bought a black forrest yesterday and it was terribly dry and old. Wish we just bought a cake from countdown, would have saved money and got a similar quality cake. Don't know what happened. Maybe it's this branch. It was embracing because we praised this cake so much to our friend and then it turned out so bad. Yuk.

2 cakes - Marble Chiffon and Strawberry Cream...OMG SOOOOOO FRICKEN GOOD!!!PERFECT sponge - wish I got the big size for both of them...so SO YUM! This is the first time our family have finished both cakes!!We will be ordering again in the next week for our next lot of bdays :)Well done!!!
