Nanny Goat Vineyard - Homepage | An impromptu trek to a restaurant nestled high above the picturesque town of Queenstown in late 2004 was to provide the inspiration behind the name Nanny Goat Vineyard. Heading off to take in some breath-taking scenery, good food and of course some great Central Otago Pinot Noir, what was supposed to be a relaxing stroll quickly transformed into an arduous, unplanned deviation as the gentle terrain quickly transformed, leaving all concerned to navigate some rather perilous ground. A lighthearted comment likening the group to a herd of Nanny Goats struck a chord and would go on to become the inspiration behind the name.

Did a wine tasting there today & ending up staying for lunch. Paddy was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. Had the best day of our trip so far and all the wines were magnificent 5 ⭐️

I visited Nanny Goat on New Years Eve with 5 friends and had a fantastic time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the $12 wine tasting was incredibly reasonable and generous and the platters were tasty. The crackers and bread were a bit underwhelming compared to what they accompanied and it felt a bit strange to be eating sausage roles and small pies at a winery but overall, for a group of non wine connoisseurs, we had a great time! Who doesn’t love giant jenga? Looking forward to going back when the wines have matured even more!

beautiful wines nice view and book a lunch for my tour groupsI was looking for somewhere that can take my tours for wine tasting and also nice views, I didnt book any winery place until I find this one, amazing views and service also willing to take my private tours, very well organized.

Had a wonderful stop at this winery today. Got to try their pinot noir which both years were excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and a perfect place to sit and drink a glass. Tasting is $15 or $3 per wine.

What a wonderful way to share a Sunday lunchStunning scenery in a beautiful setting. The decor is clean, minimalist and doesn’t try and compete with the surroundsThe bathroom was lovely and the sign made me laugh (use the bathroom it will then make sense)Our host was welcoming. Everything from booking our table online to asking for a coffee at the end was easyWe opted for a tasting with a platter. Nothing was rushed.The food- wow. What a great way to sample local produceAnd the wine. That was wonderful. The Pinot Gris was my favourite.We were recommending the Cellar door experience to people all over the world before we had even left!

The young man that hosted us was fabulous. Very knowledgeable about the wines and so pleasant . The wine and the cheese toastie were delicious and great value . A wonderful afternoon spent relaxing

very relaxing, staff is attentive and professional, positive vibes, beautiful environment. No booking required like in many other wineries in NZ just come in during opening hours
