Nga Hau Mangere Birthing Centre

My experience with Nga Hau has been amazing so far! The support and knowledge I have gained throughout my journey has been amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.They have bathrooms in every room and double beds for partners to stay.I haven’t given birth yet but it makes it more exciting knowing I’m in good hands.

Gave birth to my first born here just last Friday and I have recommended this facility to all my friends and family members who are expecting or trying to. My midwife Claire helped me tremendously throughout my pregnancy to labour and aftercare with ease and comfort. I am so happy I chose to come to Ngā Hau instead of the hospital especially with my first born as it helped to ease any worries I had which made my pregnancy run by so smoothly for me and my healthy baby boy. Another big bonus was also allowing dad to stay with us the whole time even staying the night in a queen size bed after labour which helped me and baby a lot ☺️

Such a great birthing experience. Super friendly staff, facilities are VERY clean, spacious rooms + bed feels like a 5 star hotel.I’ve had Colleen as my midwife for my last two births and would highly recommend her. Love her to bits. I would travel from anywhere in Auckland to receive the care and guidance from Colleen at this birthing unit.

I had all my midwife appointments here & so grateful i had such empowered water birthing experience for both our babies. Dinah Otukolo our midwife for our three kids. She’s amazing, truly. The space very clean, professional friendly staff, comfortable rooms, all you need. Nga Hau Māngere Birthing Centre is definitely for mothers & parents✨Appreciate your service.

I was lucky enough to give birth here in December 2021. My experience was incredible, words cannot describe how grateful I am to the team for not only supporting me through my pregnancy, birth & aftercare.I gave birth while still under strict covid restrictions so couldn't have any visitors, but I felt like the team were my family, they were incredibly supportive, responsive, & caring. The place itself is so clean & presented immaculately; you almost forget you are in a birthing unit!You give birth & stay in the same room so no need to move all your things & the one huge thing for me was that dad was allowed to stay the night, amazing!I have recommended this amazing birthing unit to everyone I know & if I was to have another baby, I would have no hesitation in coming back here. I seriously cannot recommend this birthing unit enough!

Back in 2020 I had all my midwife appointments at Nga Hau. The facilities are so clean and the atmosphere is so calming.I was so excited to have my daughter there but unfortunately I had to be induced and ended up at Middlemore which was the complete opposite of Nga Hau. Still wish I could have birthed there as I hear nothing but good things and they let the fathers stay. It is such a godsend to have a place where Mothers can go to give birth and get the full attention and care they need especially in South Auckland where our main hospital (Middlemore) is a training hospital which is over worked and understaffed.

Nothing but positive feedback and memories to share on my experience here, it is the dreamiest place to have a baby , I almost didn’t believe everything they had to offer at first because it sounded too good to be true and in the end exceeded all my expectaions !I could not stop talking about my experience there after my son was born .All the midwives are so genuine and kind and the rooms were spacious homely and comforting in the time we stayed . They looked after us as if we were their family and so loving towards us and our son at our post natal appointments . Having all round attention from the midwives as well as my partner there was bliss especially during labour in the big bath. 100 percent have recommended to everyone since having my baby there.I dont think any birthing and postnatal experience could compare with what Nga Hau had to offer and have heard so many traumatic birth stories and horrific postnatal care from other facilities ! Go Nga Hau we love you all so much !!!
