Nice rest area with a shelter, toilet and views of Lake Lyndon and the surrounding mountains. Nice spot to stop and have lunch while driving through the area.

We didn’t even know or plan to go to this place. We were on our way to Kura Tawhiti. We stopped there for some time when we saw some cars parked there. Nice view from this place. Nice backdrop for the photos. Although the time when we went there, the ground was wet and muddy but still it was manageable. If you want your cars to be clean then avoid going when it’s raining or wet as your footwear will definitely carry mud to your vehicle. Otherwise a nice spot.

Lovely spot to chill out and do a bit of fishing.Motor boats fill the lake on weekends.Freedom camp a night.
