Calluna Crescent Reserve
Artificial and native forest remnants.Totara Heights development stays on the edge of this nature reserve. And there pedestrians paths has been built. Top part of reserve is well-maintained.But Eugenia Rise bigger part is underdeveloped and weeded.Mature native forest is now very rare in urban Auckland. Some excellent examples of mature tōtara, pūriri, kahikatea-pukatea and kānuka forest are found in a cluster of council reserves in Everglade Neighborhood.The tōtara, regenerating kānuka and kahikatea-pukatea forest is a successional community, meaning the tōtara and kānuka will be hopefully replaced by other trees slowly over time.
